It cost me $15 each to send the donation winners their CDs (all international). It is what it is

Yes, but this increase triggers enormous import fees to my location, more than doubling my expenses...

I think I’m just going to wait for these digitally unless it’s something really special. Such a waste of money for the sake of shipping a small plastic disc and its box…

Oof. If I'd known this, I would have told you to keep the CD. I figured you'd have a moderately low shipping rate to even consider sending out discs for free.

By the way, from the stuff on the list, the only two I was seriously interested in and had to choose from were Jack Reacher and Fiddler on the Roof. I picked the Kraemer because I figured Fiddler would be getting an expansion sooner or later. I didn't expect it to be *this* soon though - it's been announced while the Kraemer is still in the mail!

Always been fond of Chris Boardman's Payback, it's a great theme (which pays homage to/is a variation on The Taking of Pelham 1-2-3 of course) and the climactic cue is terrific too, hope that at some point there's a proper score release. I never quite understood why the score was replaced in the altered cut of the film.

How can a mere two titles be a BIG batch?

Or do they mean the scores / films themselves are big / really popular / really requested?

What are the "biggest" titles they control in perpetuity?

Here's a list to help

As always I hope for BRAINSTORM and anything Elfman

I'd love Sphere, but I'd too be excited for more Danny Elfman.

Pee-wee would be great, especially if they can debut the actual film recordings (only currently available in the OOP Burton/Elfman box) and also include the re-recording LP they commissioned (which also had music from Back to School)

I do think the orange color is intentional, but I don't have a clue what it could be for

Big would be a re-issue since it was already a CD Club title 20 years ago.  It's nice for things to go back in print, but also disappointing because Varese does so few of these batches and there's so many titles they have rights to that haven't gotten the treatment yet

Well they used to do 4 releases, two were usually Encores and the other were DEs or premieres. Now it's just two DEs all the way.

Presumed Innocent and Starship Troopers reissue pleeeeeeeease!

Wouldn't mind Brainstorm, The 13th Warrior, Hollow Man, Shrek and Sphere too.

Anyway nice to hear news about Varèse

I was pretty apathetic about The 13th Warrior until I found a clip of part of the final battle and heard what must be a film alternate that was rather nice, and would push me just over the edge to buying a DE. I'd be surprised if it's not on their 'todo' list given that it's Goldsmith.

Otherwise, it would be nice to see I, Robot and Ice Age. Sphere would also be really good, but I suspect the WB-Goldenthal 'thing' could cause problems there.

As always, I’m in for any Williams or Elfman, not likely much else. But sometimes I’m surprised at what movies are buried in the recesses of my mind until they’re announced on one of these things.

Whaddya mean it's not complete!?

I mean there are cues missing. This year it's the 25th anniversary a good year for a more complete presentation

I'm unfamiliar with these films. What is the connection between Payback and Pelham?

Shire used the 12-tone system for his score, and the Payback main titles definitely mirrors/channels that Pelham theme:

it's not just a "thought"; John Powell specifically posted on social media that Back Lot Records was doing it:
