Brónach 1,302
More elaborate than The Lord Of The Rings? It's not considered to be a "single film score." That's the qualifier. You're right.I hope it's a complete Spartacus in awesome sound quality. They always say the OST doesn't make it justice, and I'm not sure I really like the OST all that much, but a release like this could change my opinion. It's been ages since I saw the film. Not for any legitimate reason, it's just not a score I'm familiar with. It'd be ok if it were, though; you guys deserve it. I'm fine with it being Spartacus. We all knew it was coming as soon as Isham posted that clip and I'm prepared to watch the fun and games from a distance And please people, stop saying "you should get into this score". I'm (and I'm sure many others here) just not interested in that era.

Jay 37,352
CATS & DOGS: The Revenge Of Kitty GaloreOriginal Motion Picture Score Music Composed by Christopher Lennertz In the age-old battle between cats and dogs, one crazed feline has taken things a paw too far. Kitty Galore, formerly an agent for cat spy organization MEOWS, has gone rogue and hatched a diabolical plan to not only bring her canine enemies to heel, but take down her former kitty comrades and make the world her scratching post. Faced with this unprecedented threat, cats and dogs will be forced to join forces for the first time in history in an unlikely alliance to save themselves — and their humans — in Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore, a comedy that blends live action with state-of-the-art puppetry and computer animation. It’s time for the fur to fly! Christopher Lennertz — composer of such video game scores as Gun, The Godfather II, Quantum Of Solace — brings a classic James Bond sound to the CATS & DOGS franchise. Warner Bros. opens CATS & DOGS: THE REVENGE OF KITTY GALORE nationwide on July 30. Varèse Sarabande Catalog #: 302 067 041 2Release Date: 08/24/10THE TUDORS: Season 3Music From The Showtime Original Series Music Composed by Trevor Morris Season 3 of THE TUDORS premiered to both audience and critical acclaim. It garnered record ratings, making it one of Showtime’s most popular series. Both the series and star Jonathan Rhys Meyers earned Golden Globe® nominations for Season 1 (Rhys Meyers earned a nomination for Season 2 as well. Anne Boleyn is dead and a Catholic rebellion is rising in the north. The king's army makes a bloody example of the traitors, and Henry VIII will not be satisfied until the defiant leaders pay with their heads. The virtuous and beautiful new queen of England, Jane Seymour, has convinced him to reconcile with his daughters, little Elizabeth and pious Mary, whom the insurgents hope will one day restore the Church to power. Mary must wait her turn, however, when Jane blesses Henry with the one thing his other wives could not, a son, only she doesn't survive his birth. Devastated, the king locks himself in seclusion. A new leader is waiting for Henry's power to weaken, a jousting wound threatens his life, and disloyalty is brewing within the court. Fearful of England's waning alliances, the king's advisers convince him to marry homely Anne of Cleves, a political union in which he finds little comfort...until he meets a young, coquettish new mistress named Katherine. In the seductive and gripping third season of The Tudors, the king finally gets everything he ever wanted. But the unrest is continuing, and Henry will stop at nothing, and spare no one, to hold on to the throne. Composer Trevor Morris won the 2007 Emmy Award for Best Theme for The Tudors and his music for Season 3, now expanded to feature a regal and haunting choir, exhibits his best work yet. Season 4 of THE TUDORS is airing now on Showtime, and Season 3 is available on DVD and BluRay. Jay 37,352
Varese just announced 4 titles coming out in September. With there still being nothing about LOST: Season 6 on their site, I think that the amazon listing for it is just wrong.NEVER LET ME GOOriginal Motion Picture Soundtrack Music Composed by Rachel Portman In his highly acclaimed novel Never Let Me Go, Kazuo Ishiguro (The Remains of the Day) created a remarkable story of love, loss and hidden truths. In it he posed the fundamental question: What makes us human? Now director Mark Romanek (One Hour Photo), writer Alex Garland and DNA Films bring Ishiguro's hauntingly poignant and emotional story to the screen. Kathy (Oscar® nominee Carey Mulligan, An Education), Tommy (Andrew Garfield, Boy A, Red Riding) and Ruth (Oscar® nominee Keira Knightley, Pride & Prejudice, Atonement) live in a world and a time that feel familiar to us, but are not quite like anything we know. They spend their childhood at Hailsham, a seemingly idyllic English boarding school. When they leave the shelter of the school and the terrible truth of their fate is revealed to them, they must also confront the deep feelings of love, jealousy and betrayal that threaten to pull them apart. Academy Award-winning composer Rachel Portman (Emma) provides a beautiful and powerful score.Fox Searchlight will begin a roll-out of NEVER LET ME GO on September 15. Varèse Sarabande Catalog #: 302 067 043 2Release Date: 09/14/10TRUE BLOOD: Season TwoOriginal Score From The HBO® Original Series Music Composed by Nathan Barr Critics across the country have proclaimed TRUE BLOOD — the winner of a 2009 Emmy for Best Drama Series and Golden Globe nominee for Best Television Series: Drama — one of the best shows on TV. USA Today called it 'wildly imaginative,' while the Washington Post found it 'audacious, outrageous and playfully grisly.' TV Guide hailed the show as 'graphically sexy and scary, and often wildly funny,' and 'a broadly entertaining, deliciously twisted slice of modern Southern Gothic.' Mixing romance, suspense, mystery and humor, TRUE BLOOD takes place in the not-too-distant future, when vampires have come out of the coffin, thanks to the invention of mass-produced synthetic blood that means they no longer need humans for their fix. Set in the backwoods Louisiana town of Bon Temps, the show follows the romance between clairvoyant waitress Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin, 2009 Golden Globe winner) and 173-year-old vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer). Composer Nathan Barr (Hostel) has cooked up a second season's worth of his bayou-spiced score. The hugely anticipated third season of True Blood premiered to the show's best ratings yet, June 13th on HBO, while True Blood: The Complete Second Season was released on DVD and Blu-ray on May 25th. Golden Globe winner Richard Gere (Chicago) stars as Professor Parker Wilson, a distinguished scholar who discovers a lost Akita puppy on his way home from work. Despite initial objections from Wilson’s wife, Cate (Academy Award nominee Joan Allen , The Contender), Hachi endears himself into the Wilson family and grows to be Parker’s loyal companion. In addition to his famous female consorts, his 20+-year marriage to Catherine of Aragon, and the infamous dalliance with Anne Boleyn, THE TUDORS delves into Henry’s most notable political relationship and the deconstruction of the Roman Catholic Church in England. Season 4 — the final season — focuses on Henry’s ill-fated marriage to Katherine Howard, his uncommonly successful final marriage with Katherine Parr, an attempted invasion of France and the question of the kingdom’s leadership after Henry’s death. Composer Trevor Morris won the 2007 Emmy Award for Best Theme for THE TUDORS and his music for Season 4 exhibits his best work yet, allowing him the opportunity to bring this epic saga to a powerful close. Critics across the country have proclaimed TRUE BLOOD — the winner of a 2009 Emmy for Best Drama Series and Golden Globe nominee for Best Television Series: Drama — one of the best shows on TV. Jay 37,352
LET ME INOriginal Motion Picture Soundtrack Music Composed by Michael Giacchino An alienated 12-year-old boy befriends a mysterious young newcomer in his small New Mexico town, and discovers an unconventional path to adulthood in Let Me In, a haunting and provocative thriller. Twelve-year old Owen (Kodi Smit-McPhee, The Road) is viciously bullied by his classmates and neglected by his divorcing parents. His only friend is his new neighbor Abby (Chloe Moretz, Kick-Ass), an eerily self-possessed young girl who lives next door with her silent father (Oscar nominee Richard Jenkins, The Visitor). Recognizing a fellow outcast, Owen opens up to her and before long, the two have formed a unique bond. When a string of grisly murders puts the town on high alert, Abby's father disappears, and the terrified girl is left to fend for herself. Still, she repeatedly rebuffs Owen’s efforts to help her and her increasingly bizarre behavior leads the imaginative Owen to suspect she’s hiding an unthinkable secret. Academy Award-winning composer Michael Giacchino (Up) provides a suitably unsettling score, laced with melancholy and intrigue. Overture Films opens LET ME IN nationwide on October 1. Most famous for his haunting and hypnotic music for such David Lynch productions as Twin Peaks, Blue Velvet and Mulholland Drive, Badalamenti’s soundtracks have been best-sellers. The composer’s theme and music for Bravo TV’s Inside The Actors Studio has similarly become iconic. A special tribute concert was performed to honor Angelo Badalamenti at the 2009 Ghent International Film Festival and, in separate recording sessions, the concert program was recorded with conductor Dirk Brossé. Over 70 minutes of Badalamenti’s music is presented here:Blue Velvet • Twin Peaks • Inside The Actors Studio • Mulholland Drive • A Very Long Engagement The collection also includes a couple of very special pieces. The entrancing song Who Will Take My Dreams Away was co-written with singer Marianne Faithful, who sings on this recording. Badalamenti also composed the music for the lighting of the Olympic torch at the Barcelona 1992 Summer Olympic Games and this rarity also appears here. Angelo Badalamenti: Music For Film and Television is an outstanding collection of the composer’s best work.
