David Coscina 3
This is but one example of why Mr Williams has expressed so much admiration for this composer moving beyond words.

fommes 126
Johnny is in fact a notorious poster on classic music fan boards, where he's constantly spamming with polls about Edward vs Gustav and guides on how to edit Elgar's music as it was intended to be. Miguel Andrade 964
Mr. Williams has more than once expressed that one of his favorite pieces of music is Elgar's Cello Concerto. He also said recently that one of his favorite composers is Haydn.

Hlao-roo 388
If you listen to Medal of Honor, it's obvious that one of Williams' favorite composers is Michael Giacchino.
Omen II 1,088
This is but one example of why Mr Williams has expressed so much admiration for this composer moving beyond words.Nice find, Fiery Angel! Elgar was indeed a wonderful composer, perhaps the quintessential English composer - his Nimrod from the Enigma Variations has a similar place in the English psyche as Barber's Adagio for Strings has for many Americans, a piece to be played in times of trouble or reflection. He is undoubtedly one of my favourite composers. Did you know that his portrait used to adorn £20 notes in England? Indeed there was some considerable dismay among a lot of English people when his portrait was replaced in the new design with that of the Scottish economist Adam Smith, who already appeared on the Scottish £50 note (and was therefore very rarely seen! ^_^ ).Ken Russell directed a famous documentary about Elgar for the BBC Monitor series back in the 1960s in which my late grandfather appeared briefly, playing the double bass in a reconstruction of the band that Elgar formed from staff working at a lunatic asylum! And if we're talking Elgar here, you really can't beat , Pomp and Circumstance March no. 1, as heard at last year's Last Night of the Proms.
