Not a fan. Found it in a used bin 6 years ago, listened to it once, never thought of trying again. Didn't make a positive impression in the film, either.

6 years, is a long time, Morlock. Give it another go; you might be surprised.

Granted, "The Name Of The Rose" is probably Horner's "Images", or, even "The Thing", or, quite possibly "The Lion In Winter", or "POTA", but it is well worth investigating.

Outside of a few action sequences, KotCS bores the pants off me, frankly.

When I listen to KotCS now, I don't even bother getting dressed anymore.

KotCS.

But that is because I just like Williams' style better. Also, KotCS feels more original to me than Avatar. Im not saying it is, it just feels like it. The first half of the score is immensely enjoyable, but drops off massively once Williams applies his generic action writing. I always skip all of the tracks after the Jungle Chase and dip right into the end credits.

Avatar is a score I never could get into in the first place. I do not know why, but I just cannot get enjoyment out of exotic percussion and voices, which is soething Horner heavily uses - for good reason, mind you, I just don't like it.

That's funny, I always feel like undressing after reading one of your posts.

Yeah, that's the way to listen to film music.

Get naked, sit back in a leather recliner with an alcoholic beverage of your choice and let the music flow. Works all the time.
