Giftheck 573
I recently created this. It's all seventeen seconds of the "Terminator Theme" used in Terminator Salvation.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-_BJGUvLQoI got to thinking - seventeen seconds? Is that even worth the time to compose and conduct it? Brad Fiedel got credit for the theme but that just fuels my thought that there's more to this theme that the film haf. I can't help but see this as part of a larger theme, perhaps Danny Elfman created a version of the theme from the second film and this is how it ended? And perhaps it was cut back because it might conflict with the Salvation theme, or because of legal issues.I was wondering what you thought about this theory. QMM 4
You can hear theme at 1:08 in the first track but other than that there aren't any overt references to it that I've heard.
Giftheck 573
It's not a reference I'm after. I think there's actally MORE to that theme. I just get that vibe.
Kendal_Ozzel 32
As I recall from the film (which I only saw once), it sounded tacked on, like it was an afterthought and Elfman never intended for it to be there in the first place (hence it not being on the soundtrack). Giftheck 573
It was. A variant of the film version Main Titles got leaked (minus the heavy percussion), but considering that the entire soundtrack was butchered across the board, that's nothing. I think perhaps a Terminator Theme was perhaps done for the End Credits suite ALA Rise of the Machines. That same piece also sounds pitched-up, and cut down. It plays again during the "Arnold Reveal" scene and during the finale.
