What are some pieces that instantly put you in a conspiratory mood?

Off the top of my head:

1. "Theme from Mission Impossible"

2. "The Conspirators" (from JFK)

3. "The Plot" (from Mission Impossible)

4. "Everybody Runs!" (from Minority Report)

5. "The Ellsberg Break-In and Watergate" (from Nixon)

What are some pieces that instantly put you in a conspiratory mood? What's on your list?

Actually these sound pretty conspiratory too, but in a slightly different way!

"In the Jungle" (from Raiders of the Lost Ark)

"Making the List" (from Schindler's List)

"Presumed Innocent" (Theme)

The main theme from Outland

Ooh, that's a good one. By "main theme", I assume you mean "The Mine", and not the funny-sounding main title?

"The Conspirators" always does it for me, along with most of "Golfinger", especially "Dawn Raid On Fort Knox".

Capricorn One!

It came to mind for my list yesterday. Parts of the score certainly are conspiratorial, due to the nature of the movie.

But the main them (as absolutely wonderful as it is) doesn't conjure up that kind of mood at all, I'd say.

I suppose there is also Coma by Jerry Goldsmith. Very conspiratorial film and also a damn creepy conspiratorial score.

A few more.....

- Close Encounters of the Third Kind

Never gets old.

Setting the Trap from Home Alone

Melange - Looking for the tongue in cheek emoticon. ;)

Mulan's Decision from Mulan

I still prefer that snazzy version than the version Jerry wrote for that scene

.

either the unused version of Escaping the pit (AKA Indy Rides The Statue) or the snippet of that motif in "The Idol's Cave" OR the piece that plays when the clones are searching for Yoda on Kashyyk in ROTS

I guess "Stealing the Enterprise" is a little too obvious? lol :)

Others would include "1960s/The Turbulent Years" from "Nixon," about 1:43 or so to the end; also "The Sorcerer's Apprentice."

Haven't we all forgotten the obvious: John Barry's - yes, John Barry's! - "James Bond" Theme!

I agree with Stefan: no main title grabs you by the throat more than "Capricorn One". It gets its "hooks in you", and does not let go.

Also, and I don't quite know why, but "Khan's Pets" always makes me think of spies. Ho, hum.

3 : Gumbold's Safe ~ On Her Majesty's Secret Service

I'd also add something from Russia House and Chinatown (I don't remember the track titles, though).

Also Arnold's Body Double from TWINE and Williams' Saving Buckbeack from You-Know-What.

Yeah I was going to put that in my list, but there were no musical examples on YouTube that are from the more conspiratorial tracks.

I would also share some of the funky and mysterious Bond-Esque stuff by Schifrin, in his score for Enter the Dragon. :)

Enter the Dragon :

Enter the Dragon :

Melange - Never takes his eyes off his opponent (even when he bows).

Another good one is the

, by Michael Kamen.

More "mysterious" and dark than "Conspiratorial" I guess, but it's definately "Something is afoot" music.
