Edmilson 7,432
Danny Elfman - Josstice League I don't know why this is the most hated score of all time. There is a lot of solid stuff in there. What drags it down is that Elfman seems to want to please everyone all at the same time and ended up pleasing almost no one. It is not better than his Ultron material though. Not a chance. Karol
Bespin 8,480
Although some "Marvel" movies had great composers (Elfman, Silvestri, etc.), I TRY to ignore them. Elfman's Spider-Man is I think the only "Marvel" score I bought... but it was the "first" serie, or batch, anyway... I always liked Spider-Man, because his butt is a great part of the costume. But we talked about music. Elfman, I make exception for Elfman... But Justice League, I don't know that, and I'm not interested. I've listened to Ultron several times (and even did a Restored Isolated Score thread for the movie) and I can't bring myself to like both Tyler's and Elfman's scores. They have their moments, but overall I think both composers were relatively uninspired. But I like Elfman's Avengers United cue.
Matt C 452
Ever After - George Fenton It works equally well in the film and outside as a listening experience. The main theme for Danielle is exquisitely beautiful, especially in its sad form in "The Glass Slipper" and cleverly mingling with Countess Rodmilla's in "Sweet Revenge." A very underrated Fenton score. The soundtrack is programmed for an enjoyable listening experience, not chronological. That's OK in my book. blondheim and Tom Guernsey
The Illustrious Jerry 3,356
The Kid Detective is a breezy neo-noir throwback score from last year, classily composed by Canadian up-and-comer Jay McCarrol. Rings similar to the satisfaction of Hart's The Old Man and the Gun, at least as far as they're both tasteful modern touch-ups of familiar mediums, and make for rather easy listening. The second track, Willowbrook Then, is the standout keeper, but clocking in at a brisk 29 minutes, the whole album's worth a shot. The Man Standing Next, South Korea's submission for Best International Feature this year, is a rather flat political thriller about KCIA operations under President Park in the 1970s. Cho Young-Wuk's score lacks the substance to justify it's length on album- the final track is all you need to take away here.

One of my Fenton favourites, and with one of the best examples of his faux-renaissance (?) writing. The album is missing a few lovely moments from the finale, as far as I remember. I suppose an expansion wouldn't be essential, but I'd buy it. blondheim

An OST was never a way to properly sum the movie story. It's a way for the composer to show "his best", only musically speaking.
