Matt C 454
Krull - James Horner Horner's masterwork, no matter how much you guys prefer The Rocketeer, Wrath of Khan or his glossy Oscar fare. No matter how much I listen to it, it continues to draw me in. The main theme, the overly rapturous love theme, and the highlight cue "Ride of the Firemares." It is truly fine narrative scoring. To explain, I spent most of the day working away at my thesis assignment, and when Born Free came on, it was really working for me. I was in the mood for more sugary Barry sap, so I went through the whole roster. I may have overdone it though as the day just started to move in slow motion. John 2,032
The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, by Howard Shore It's serviceable. Not Mr. Big 4,639
Battle Royale Much more tonal than I was expecting. Not a big fan of the tracking of classical pieces into the album but there are a handful of well-written sentimental melodies (which I've been missing from new Hollywood film scores). The action music is solid too, very Goldsmithian in parts.
