Well the year is almost over for us.

I hope everyone is careful on the 31st and enjoys the festivities, whether you are going out or staying home. :drunk:

Here's to 2011, may it be a better and rewarding year for everyone.

:groupwave: Happy New Year! It's also a new decade, right?

No, this was the first year of the new decade.

I don't know about about, but I had a pretty great year. May that trend continue into the next chapter and beyond. :)

No, this was the first year of the new decade.

Seeing as the first year was year 1 rather than year 0, I think a decade is technically years 1-10, not 0-9. So 2010 was the last year of last decade.

1989 was the last year of the 80's, 1999 was the last year of the 90's, 2009 was the last year of... whatever that decade is called.

According to Jeff Jacoby of the Boston Globe, you're wrong:

The first decade of the 1st century ran from Year 1 through Year 10. The first decade of the 21st century, therefore, consists of the years 2001 through 2010, no matter how many "Decade in Review" essays, roundups, recaps, and slideshows you're being bombarded with as 2009 comes to an end.

All the best to my fellow forumites, I hope next year brings happiness and glad tidings. (A couple of decent scores wouldn't go amiss, either.)

Lee - who shall be staying in tonight and having a quiet one, probably on Xbox Live. Well, my girlfriend is about to burst after all - wouldn't want anyone to knock into her causing her to go into labour, just yet. Get the holiday season completely out of the way first.

Only for people who don't understand ordinal numbers. :)

Well, I was in the garden to fire off some bad ass firework; when I quickly went inside to grab my coat, I slipped on my snowy shoes and crashed flat on the floor, cracking both hands open.

When I picked myself up again, I proceeded to light the fuse of the first rocket with my bloody fingers and, unable to pull away in time, also burned them.

If this isn't a way to fire off a new year ... -.-

Sounds like a normal new year to me.

Happy new year everyone!

2010 sucked for me (for the most part) and I'm going into 2011 with a positive attitude and a lot of good changes in my personal life.

Can't wait to get started!
