Jay 45,296 Posted September 9, 2025 Posted September 9, 2025 Yeah it seemed cool but was in an area I didn't have a map and didn't want to linger too long. Next time I play I want to spend a bunch of rosaries on something, not sure if I should go for a simple key, the crafting kit, weighted bell, or tool pouch Then gotta explore the new area I had just unlocked. Might be Greymoor I think The Score Cleaner 1

Jay 45,296 Posted September 9, 2025 Posted September 9, 2025 Huh ok I love their singing! All the voice acting in this game is fun, and a step up from the first (which was already great)
Jay 45,296 Posted September 11, 2025 Posted September 11, 2025 Had an awesome session last night. Bought a simple key and went into the wormways and got that map, made my way into Greymoor and got that map - the map is really filling in now! Explored pretty left and right into Greymoor and found difficult enemies in both directions (those new bird enemies are annoying!), but looks like left ultimately has more stuff so will go there next time I get to play. Hoping to find more major abilities since I will only have the dash and drifer's cloak 9 hours in. Want to climb walls!

Jay 45,296 Posted September 12, 2025 Posted September 12, 2025 Faleel, I went all the way to the right and hit a dead end. I could tell that there's stuff up high, but I can't seem to reach it without having either a double jump of a wall cling of some kind. Do I need one of those to get the item you're talking about? There is a door you can go in at the end, that ends in having to fight a gauntlet of annoying birds that I kept dying to. Does finishing that enable you go get up higher somehow? I also went all the way to the left and found a moss (Moorwing) who killed me in about 2 seconds

(BTW There is some other paths nearer to that inn/bench where pogoing on birds is necessary to get higher up, and which lead to a Spoiler Silk spool thingy upgrade) You can "cheese" Moorwing: You can hit the boss with your pogo (you may need an item in a Spoiler "Chapel of the Reaper" to the far left, with a bunch of scissor runners ) right through the platform underneath the entrance, and defeat the boss without taking any damage.
Jay 45,296 Posted September 12, 2025 Posted September 12, 2025 Hehe, I already discovered you can cheese the birds anywhere you can go under a dock or other platform since your needle goes through it but their attacks do not Man, those scissor guys are SO annoying!
The Score Cleaner 9,607 Posted September 12, 2025 Posted September 12, 2025 Oh, I got the fleas for the flea quest, though it seems that wasnonly the first round. Apparently if you finish that quest the caravan takes you to the Moorwing arena, and Moorwing is bypassed conpletely!* *I believe I read somewhere that it just moves the fight to another location and time
Jay 45,296 Posted September 12, 2025 Posted September 12, 2025 Nice, I found 3 fleas very quickly after getting the quest but then haven't come across the remaining two anywhere I triggered something that caused more quests to appear in the starting town, some other type of bad guy I have to kill x number of, and building a bridge over the hole that leads to the starting area lol

Xander Harris 9,155 Posted September 13, 2025 Posted September 13, 2025 I built out Micro Park on my computer. It's the smallest map in either game but easy to beat by just spamming freefall rides and waiting for the end of year 3. It's not so easy to make a decent park out of it however. I'm not entirely satisfied with anything here but I thought it turned out kind of cute. It has a multi-lap train that goes past specific theming and through the space themed launch ride, a slide, pirate ship, carousel and the spook house. I'd spend a day there.

The Score Cleaner 9,607 Posted September 14, 2025 Posted September 14, 2025 @Jay just beat a super tough boss!! Spoiler Splinter Sister!!
Jay 45,296 Posted September 14, 2025 Posted September 14, 2025 Nice dude! I had a great session last night. Got the Wanderer's Crest and Reaper's Crest. Got the silk attack thing. Found a fourth mask shard and second silk fragment to get my first upgrade to each. Found 2 lost fleas and rode the caravan to Greymoor so I didn't have to fight Moorwing. Went into Bellhart and Shellwood and got their maps and got to the boss of Shellwood to end the night (killed me pretty quick). The crests are amazing, total game changer! Wish I had found one sooner and will prioritize getting one as early as possible next time. Especially the Reaper's since you get the downward pogo AND extra silk possibilities after healing. But the Wanderer let's you equip two yellows which is cool. Game keeps getting better and better. The moody atmosphere of Greymoor and Bellhart is so cool
The Score Cleaner 9,607 Posted September 14, 2025 Posted September 14, 2025 I like the Wanderer because it has quick slash Wait until you find Spoiler the slab .... Oh, and I also just went a bit further in the Hunters March, and found another Spoiler Crest Chapel , and a bench
Jay 45,296 Posted September 16, 2025 Posted September 16, 2025 I haven't had much time to play since Friday, but I did make my way through Shellwood again and beat Splinter Sister! That was a boss battle that seemed SO impossible at first, but once you figure out that she always punches 3 times only and only has 3 moves overall, it wasn't too bad. Thread Storm is HUGE for this battle because you can take out both of the flying enemies and dear her some damage all at the same time if you time it right. If it took me 50 times to get past her first phase, it took me probably 5 to get past the second and probably beat the final phases on my second try. Really good boss! Got the claw and went right into Bellhart and found Widow which was awesome but she killed me pretty quick. Will probably see if I can beat her to start my next session, get whatever prize she unlocks, then go back through old areas and see what I can find with the claw and whatever I get from beating her.

Knight of Ren 1,448 Posted September 16, 2025 Posted September 16, 2025 Wasn't aware of the Silksong talk in here! I've been enjoying the game a lot, even if it's a bit frustrating to die countless times. I won't be able to play for a couple of weeks but I did manage to advance quite a bit in this week and a half. The last bosses I completed were Moorwing, Splinter Sister and the Skull-Ant Warrior guarding the entrance to the Hunter's March. The platforming in this area is challenging but also lots of fun! It took me a bit to get used to the new diagonal pogo but I love it now. I did get the vertical pogo thanks to the Reaper's Crest but I'm sticking to the Wanderer's Crest for now. I feel the game is massive in comparison to HK. I've played like 15h or so and I feel I've only scracthed the surface of the world because I haven't even finished Act 1 yet! Whenever I can return to the game I'll try to explore Hunter's March in full and then try to investigate into Bellhart and the mystery surrounding it. As a side note, I love that Hornet talks in the game! It feels so different to HK where you where a passive listener but here it's nice to read/hear Hornet's thoughts.
Jay 45,296 Posted September 16, 2025 Posted September 16, 2025 Yes I totally agree! It was perfectly fine that the knight didn't talk in HK, especially once I understood the lore of the game. But is IS very cool that Hornet DOES talk, I feel like it opens up a bigger world of storytelling and character building. There seems to be more activity in Pharloom than Halllownest so it works perfectly with that too. Knight of Ren 1

Knight of Ren 1,448 Posted September 16, 2025 Posted September 16, 2025 I think I'm mixing them up hahaha! I got two more apart from the one you start the game with. I don't remember the names, but I got one in Greymoor and the other one after using the simple key near the Wormways. I think the one from the Wormways is the one that gave me the vertical pogo, but I'm liking the other two a bit more.

Jay 45,296 Posted September 17, 2025 Posted September 17, 2025 Tried fighting Widow a few times last night but she kicked my ass pretty handily so I gave up and started exploring around instead I ended up in a place called The Blasted Steps, and when I got to the end I was at Spoiler the door to the citadel! It turns out you need to ring the 5 big bells to open the door, and I have 4 of them all done. The one I'm missing? It's in Bellhart, so I assume I can ring it after defeating Widow. If I had beat her before coming up here, I'd be in the citadel already, I guess? Feels early! I have so much left to explore!
Jay 45,296 Posted September 19, 2025 Posted September 19, 2025 So since Widow was so difficult I left and have done a ton of exploring. I now have the Longpin, Pollip Pouch, Magnetite Dice, another silk fragment, haven't found any more mask shards though. Found a place called Sinner's road, was fun going up the Greymoor towers to get there. Sinner's Road seems like a very tough area; Couldn't figure out how to get to a supposed bench that there was signs for, and didn't find Shakra so kind of just left. Maybe I should go back because instead I've attempted to defeat Widow a bunch more times and haven't gotten too far. I can get past the first part of the fight, when you get the slow-mo effect usually reserved for defeating a boss or gauntlet room, often without taking too much damage before that point. But then the second phase is crazy, there's just stuff flying all over the screen everywhere. I dunno what I can do to make it easier

The Score Cleaner 9,607 Posted September 19, 2025 Posted September 19, 2025 10 minutes ago, Jay said: I got that a week ago. Oh yeah, I forgot. You used the key to unlock the wormways door, instead of the door in the Marrow/Deep Docks to get there right?.
Jay 45,296 Posted September 19, 2025 Posted September 19, 2025 Yup, I bought the simple key from the Bone Bottom vendor and used it to get into the wormways and don't regret it! Having the crest and more map and passageways open up in that area is cool. I have found a door that also requires a simple key in the Deep Docks, but I have yet to come across a second simple key anywhere, either for sale or found. I know in the first game there were vendors that would get a second set of inventory after you buy their first, so maybe I need to do that, I dunno. I already bought everything from the Bone Bottom guy and he disappeared and is no longer there; From Forge Daughter I cleared her out except for a shard bundle (or whatever it's called), and from Pilgrim's Rest I just got the Weighted Belt but still haven't bought the memory locket (I've found one or two of those though). I got the thing that adds poison to tools but can't really tell how much more effective they are. Didn't seem to help with with Widow at all. I do like the dice rolling item thingy that give you a chance of blocking hits and getting critical hits, that's kinda fun. My last few sessions today have been frustrating. Tried fighting WIdow and died a lot. Tried going into this gauntlet I found in Deep Docks that leads to a mask shard that I couldn't reach before and keep dying. Try to get anywhere in SInner's Road and just die. Maybe I'll try Hunter's March again... I guess injured my hand eye coordination might be even worse than it was already getting just from being older... this game might be too hard for me! And I beat Hollow Knight, with the good ending from beating Radiance! The bosses in this game are so much harder though... the platforming is great though!
The Score Cleaner 9,607 Posted September 19, 2025 Posted September 19, 2025 This game would be very expensive for me, if I had/used a swear jar lol. Jay 1
Jay 45,296 Posted September 20, 2025 Posted September 20, 2025 Oh yeah, big time! I got the mask shard in deep docks behind the gauntlet room, feeling more confident about Widow now I think the key is to get to the second half of the fight only using the needle (easy enough), then spam as many tools as possible once I get to the fast-paced second half. poisoned shards should do a lot of damage, I think. I went through a section of sinner's road only for it to be a dead end with a barbed bracelet in it, an item it looks like I won't have much use for. Oh well.

Edmilson 11,700 Posted September 21, 2025 Posted September 21, 2025 I began playing Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham. I played the previous Lego Batman games with my brother many years ago and, while they were fun enough, these Lego games aren't the kind of video game I like to play nowadays. They're always too kiddie and silly, they're games for parents to play with their young children while presenting to the kiddos the IPs of their childhoods (DC, Star Wars, etc). So why did I spend (not much, as it had a nice discount on PS Store) money on this thing? Because despite being advertised as Lego Batman, I found out this is actually a Justice League/DC Universe game. And not something totally focused on the Batman corner of the DCU like the other two. But most important: it's a game that uses the concepts created for Geoff Johns' masterful Green Lantern run (the Emotional Spectrum, the other Corps, Atrocitus, Larfleeze, etc) as its basis. I found out you can visit the other planets that appear in Johns' book, meet and play as the characters he created, or the versions of already existing characters that Geoff adapted for his epic comic book, such as Sinestro or Star Sapphire. You don't need to be confined to being just Batman and Robin. If DC isn't going to do a "serious" game based on all of that, then this Lego thing is my only choice. Of course, I preferred something in the lines of Mass Effect for a Green Lantern game, but again this isn't happening, so this will have to do. So far, it's fun. Again, not my kind of game (maybe when I have a child of my own), but it's either this or Injustice if I want to play with other non-Bat-related DC heroes. And I already beat Injustice 1 and 2 years ago.
Jay 45,296 Posted September 22, 2025 Posted September 22, 2025 29 hours into Silksong now Finally beat that pesky Hunter's March gauntlet (turns out its easier with the clawgrip) so was able to find and fix the bench there, get the map there, beat the miniboss at the top of the area, buy everything from the hidden vendor, and make my way into the temple of the beast. Died many times to the Savage Beastfly, though, so I gave up and went elsewhere. Elsewhere ended up being trying to beat Widow again, which I did on like my tenth try! Turns out Flea Brew was the key, since you can get way more hits in faster and run past bells better. Beating her is a huge game changer, not only letting you get past the Needolin doors but also all the quests and NPCs you get in Bellhart afterward. I've got tons of new stuff now - Curveclaw, Tacks, Fractured Mask, Multibinder, Silkspeed Anklets, etc. Went back to dead ends in my map now that I had the Needolin. First one woops, that's a simple key door. Second one woops, that's some other kind of door. Finally went into Weavernest Alta in Moss Grotto which was AWESOME, got a mask shard and a spool fragment there plus other stuff. Found the Moss Mothers boss but they kicked my ass too many times so I gave up. Next for the needolin I found the smaller Weavernest area in Far Fields, and got the anklets there. Also made my way through Sinner's road entirely, finding and fixing the bench, getting the map, finding the other bench by Styx, getting the simple key, getting the Tacks quest and doing that. Phew! Found an entrance to The Mist but was low on health and died quickly once inside. Strangely I haven't found all the bellways yet; Hunter's March and Sinner's Road don't even have one. Not sure how to get to the remaining areas that the Bellway goes to since from what I understand The Mist leads to the Citadel and so does the door with 5 bells on it in Blasted Steps that I can unlock now that I rang the bell after Widow. Jay 45,296 Posted September 25, 2025 Posted September 25, 2025 I BEAT THE PHANTOM LAST NIGHT! It probably took me 50+ attempts over 2-3 hours (more?) worth of gameplay but it was totally worth it, the best boss battle in the game so far. I love thse kinds of boss battles best, when the boss is the same size as you and you are in one room, its like a dance to strike and retreat perfectly over and over again. I got into a groove where I was getting into his final phase most matches fairly easily, but boy, the final phase gets so fast so quick and he does so many things so randomly, it took forever to get a run where everything ran just right. Loved the design of the boss and the room (the way it gets more misty with each phase is so cool) and of course the music. I got far enough past to roll the Act 2 cutscene, but I quickly quit out of the game and went back in to go back and explore more first. I went in that locked door in Deep Docks and found nothing but a Craftmetal and like a shard bundle or something. Oh, and a different path into Far Fields. What am I missing? There were two exists locked behind a switch I couldn't access.

Jay 45,296 Posted September 28, 2025 Posted September 28, 2025 OK. 42 hours into Silksong, I decided it's time for me to begin Act 2. I had triggered the cutscene some many hours of gameplay ago, but quit out and decided to see what I could find in Act 1 first before actually going into it. It turns out that was probably pointless, as I don't believe there's anything that you get locked out of in Act 2, but I ended up having fun trying to catalog everything possible to do in Act 1, anyway! Here's what I determined. Act 1 spoilers only, nothing about Act 2 is spoiled. In Act 1, you can get: 6 permanent abilities (Swift Step, Drifter's Cloak, Cling Grip, Needolin, Needle Strike) 3 white skills (Silk Spear, Thread Storm, Cross Strike) 10 red tools (Straight Pin, Sting Shard, Threefold Pin, Longpin, Fleabrew, Curveclaw, Tacks, Pimpillo, Flintstate, Plasmium Vial, Silkshot) 7 blue tools (Druid's Eye, Magma Bell, Warding Bell, Pollip Pouch, Multibinder, Fractured Mask, Weavelight) 8 yellow tools (Compass, Magnetite Brooch, Shard Pendant, Dead Bug's Purse, Weighted Belt, Barbed Bracelet, Magnetite Dice, Silkspeed Anklets) 4 Crests (Reaper, Wanderer, Beast, evolved Hunter) 6 Mask Shards (Pebb, Far Fields, Wormways, Deep Docks, Shellwood, Weavernest Alta), so only 1 full mask upgrade 10 Memory Lockets (Flintbeetles quest, Marrow, Hunter's March, Mort, Greymoor, Frey, Blasted Steps, Wormways, and 2 in Bilewater) 6 spool fragments (Moss Grotto, Deep Docks, Greymoor, Weavernest Alta, Frey, The Slab), so 3 full spool upgrades, neat! 1 Needle upgrade (Sharpened), there's no Pale Oil available in Act 1 4 Craftmetal (Pebb, The Marrow, Deep Docks, Blasted Steps) 2 Simple Keys (Pebb, Sinner's Road) 1 Silk Heart (after the Bell Beast) 2 Tool Pouch upgrades (Mort, Loddie) 2 Crafting Kit upgrades (Forge Daughter, Crieg) You can arrive in 15 (!) major locations (Mosslands (shown as Bone Bottom on the small map even though thats the name of the town in it, weird), The Marrow, Deep Docks, Far Fields, Greymoor, Wormways, Bellhart, Shellwood, Blasted Steps, Hunter's March, Sinner's Road, Bilewater, Weavenest Alta, The Slab, Mount Fay) You can have 15 (!) boss battles (Moss Mother, Bell Beast, Lace, Fourth Chorus, Sister Splinter, Widow, Savage Beastfly, Moss Mothers, Skull Tyrant, Great Conchflies, Last Judge, Phantom, Moorwing, Skull Tyrant 2, Savage Beastfly 2) As far as I can tell, the only things you HAVE to do to get to Act 2 is Moss Mother -> Silk Spear Bell Beast -> Swift Step Lace -> Drifter's Cloak -> Fourth Chorus Sister Splinter -> Cling Grip (can be done before 3) Widow -> Needolin either Phantom or Last Judge -> enter Citadel Everything else is optional I personally did everything listed above with the exception of 5 bosses. I rode the flea caravan to Greymoor before I could defeat Moorwing (I did see him once and die to him). I tried the Last Judge once but he creamed me very quickly. I attempted Savage Beastfly many times but gave up out of frustration; He sucks. So I haven't done Savage Beastfly 2. And I don't know how to trigger Skull Tyrant 2, so that's the five. So the only thing I'm missing is the Beast Crest, and I suppose whatever minor rewards are behind the other 4 boss battles. I don't know if its possible to get finish the quest where you have to kill 100 different enemies or not in Act 1. I have 90 enemies in my quest log. The remaining bosses won't get me there, and there might be an enemy or two in Bilewater I've never killed, but that's still not 100 so I don't think it's possible. Some other notes The Silkshot can be crafted from the Ruined Tool by the Forge Daughter in Act 1, but by others in Act 2 The Druid's Eye cannot be upgraded to Druid's Eyes in Act 1 because only 6 Mossberries are available in Act 1 You can only get 11 of Shakra's 14 maps in Act 1. Shakra is in a spot where you need an Act 2 ability to reach in both Bilewater and Mount Fay, and you cannot enter Sands of Karak at all in Act 1 unless I missed something. You can only unlock 11 of the 12 Bellway stations in Act 1, as you cannot enter Putrified Ducts at all n Act 1 unless I missed something.
