The Abyss is awesome, I like the entire album

Eraser has good action music but I find both the OST and the LLL expansion to go on kinda long

Here's a list of whom of the greats we've lost over the past 8 years:

Michael Kamen: 1948-2003

David Raksin: 1912-2004

Elmer Bernstein: 1922-2004

Jerry Goldsmith: 1929-2004

Malcolm Arnold: 1921-2006

Alexander Courage: 1919-2008

Leonard Rosenman: 1924-2008

Maurice Jarre: 1924-2009

John Barry: 1933-2011

Basil Poledouris (1945-2006)

You're right, I forgot about him...

Nope.

Sure you know this:

Yes, but I've always heard it attributed to Mitch Miller. I guess he did a rerecording of it or something?

Yes, and it's been recorded and parodied over the years by many.

Ah yes you are right, although the theme is composed by Frederick Ricketts. Apparantly Malcolm Arnold composed the River Kwai March, which is used as a counterpoint over the Bogey March ('whistle' theme).

The later isn't Malcolm Arnold, it's Mitch Miller, like the video states.

THIS is Malcom Arnold, and what I consider to be his finest film score to date.

Though he always remained more of a concert composer than a film composer, rather like his college and contemporary - Sir William Walton.

I looked it up, as I wrote, it actually IS Malcolm Arnold, 'mixed' with lieutenant Frederick Ricketts' (aka Kenneth Alford) (not Mitch Miller's!) Colonel Bogey March. You can hear Arnold's theme at 0:35.

Here's a clip with the River Kwai March by Arnold separate from Ricketts' theme. Also the secondary theme (the trombone theme in minor) is by Arnold, as you can hear.
