Well, that's obviously the more exciting part of the intro. And getting it right is crucial to any Indy soundtrack. But there's several more minutes of music in that intro, including multiple renditions of the B theme. And once that's done, I'll jump straight to the end credits suite to get a feeling for some of the other themes in the game.

Edit: And here's a slightly longer track, now including the "searching around" music in between, plus the B theme kicking in after Indy falls down to the next floor (in case you don't know the game).

Edit 2: ... and more.

I thought I'd give a few of the patches in True Strike a whirl for this one (Vibraphone, timpani, military drum). I really love the close mic for these, they give off a very 'similar' vibe to the synth percussion in the original piece.

I'm not 100% sold on the way I've orchestrated it, I could go back and tweak it, but for a 'quick' (read: about 2 hours) test, I quite like this.

EDIT: Another one.

I went back and used my cover of The T-Rex Suite from Tomb Raider as a test for the new EW Hollywood Strings 2. Listening to it, I love the violins for having a very smiliar quality to the original synth versions, but I think I prefer the Hollywood Strings 1 cellos and basses.

Recently, in the light of Martin Lawrence attending the Axel F premiere, someone on social media suggested a cross-over between Beverly Hills Cop and Bad Boys. Which got me thinking, that the two themes do share a similar rhythm. So I had to give it a shot, and it turns out, they overlay surprisingly well:

Wow, the New York cue really brings back memories! Love the orchestration for it!

Thanks! That one was actually more intimidating than the orchestral stuff, but I'm quite happy with the result.

In celebration of the upcoming Tomb Raider IV-V-VI Remastered, I decided to put all my Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation and Tomb Raider Chronicles covers into one video.
