I don't think Thor, Drax or other folks with a sense of humour take offense at friendly kidding.

Anybody here who actually likes you will tease you back, and then you'll know you've established a friendly repertoire with them.  That's how human interaction works.

I take my share of ribbing.

Do I ever ' report' it?

Never.

Yea man, trolls get off on being attacked as much as they enjoy attacking.  This is not new information to me.

Tell me again Jay...

How is constantly calling me a " troll" respectful?

You're supposed to be a moderator.

You don't even use the word knowledgably.

Do I constantly call you a " robot"  or " human spreadsheet"?

I am not intimidated by a person who knows nothing about life.

You provoke me.because you want.to ban me and you.know it.

No Jay.

It's beyond belief that you reprint posts , that are obviously posted in jest,  as examples of " trolling"

.

Then again....

I post  a self- mocking thread about finally learning how to download music and you take  it seriously!

Even when I make.fun of myself, you can't tell the difference between sarcasm and reality. Fake bragadoccio is a well established comic tradition ( Jack Benny, Steve Coogan) for those who like to laugh.

Btw Why am I being bashed and not Quintus?

It's my favorite Bond movie!

Which I then always have to quickly follow up with that I've never bought into the weird narrative about it being Moore's "serious" turn.  It may not be as silly as Moonraker, but it's plenty silly and positively a comedy compared to the Craig movies.  For me it's just a great balance of everything I love about Bond, and Conti's score is a blast.

Plus, I don't know if it's meant to be hilarious when the Countess gets run over on the beach, but I laugh either way!

The scene where he kicks Locque's teetering car off the cliff was a fairly 'cold' moment for Moore's 007. And the pre-credits 'Blofeld down the chimney' stuff and the Thatcher phone-call aside, it's broadly a more (literally) down-to-Earth Moore outing than Moonraker (probably just as well, difficult to go more OTT than that one).

YOLT followed by OHMSS, DAF followed by LALD, AVTAK followed by TLD, DAD followed by CR ... a (relatively) restrained entry following an outlandish one is somewhat of a series tradition.

It's not without its good parts, but the best bit about FYEO, is the backwards swimsuit, on the poster. Nowadays, the backs of women's swimsuits all look like this. Was Bond ahead of its time?

In some parts of the world, a pair of shorts were added to the lady because it was all just too much for them.

Brings one of Moore's quotes about the films to mind - 'In Dr No, Ursula Andress's bikini caused a huge stir. By today's standards, it's a golfing outfit'.

No doubt, I just think the talk can get a bit exaggerated when it comes to FYEO.  But I'm such an outlier, most of my favorites are the Moore ones.

I just think EON missed an opportunity this past decade to lighten up a bit.  They tried to learn a lesson from the success of Marvel, they just learned the wrong lesson.  Instead of the clumsy attempt to "connect" the Craig movies, they should have learned that there was a great appetite for lighter more comedic action movies.

Anyone else think strong opinion and heated argument/debate makes for a much more flavourful and compulsive fandom group than one which features a bunch of polite interchangeables, recognisable only by their different avatars because otherwise they all read like they're roughly the same one generic fan?

It's a rhetorical question: I know there's others who agree with me, they were JWFan legends, most of whom left. From the times before Jason was mod.
