Ι'd also like to forget Indy 4 and 5, and every sequel done more than a decade after the original movie!:P

Here's looking at you, non-existent Matrix 4 and GladIIator.

None of these are actually canon, they're just the nightmares Neo and Maximus had before dying

Especially "live-action" remakes of animated classics.

Spider-Man in 4K UHD. It's an impeccable transfer of a solid movie made mostly pre-9/11 when everything had started to suck and released slightly edited post-9/11, arguably retelling the mythos of the character's origin the best we've ever seen in a movie. I didn't care for the change to Norman Osborn's death scene. Not sure why that even happened, really.

Change? Does he not get impaled by the Goblin's glider any more?

I haven't spoiler-hidden that because the movie's now over 2 decades old. If you didn't know by now how it ends, that's on you.

Right before he's impaled he goes "Oh" and there's a pause in the sound and now it's drowned out by the sound of his glider. Just a crappy moment in the Atmos remix.

She's great, in SHAMELESS.

Ps, "Lady Dimitrescu"? What the chuffin' 'eck is that all about?

She is a tall vampire lady from a video game (Resident Evil: Village), she was a bit of a meme/obsession for a while before and after the game came out.

IIUC, it's also how it is in some/one of the comics as well...

Ah, pity. That's quite a funny moment.

The Card Counter (2021)

Another oddly directed movie. Paul Schrader is definitely not Scorsese. 4/10

Indeed.  It's such a Raimi moment to use contrasting bursts of silence and loudness.  Do we know if the 4K has the option of the older 5.1 mix?

Spider-Man 3 4K UHD

This is an over-bashed third entry. There's a lot going on here and many characters with arcs that lead them down the path to the dark side before they turn back or get exploded by a pumpkin bomb with an alien substance. I think this is MJ's movie.

After a disastrous opening musical number, she's fired and elicits the only consistently sympathetic performance as she's beat down by life, unable to confide in her man because she's so ashamed and he's acting like such an ass. The men in this flick are acting like a bunch of nutjobs and MJ of course ends up in the crossfire of these freaks.

Kirsten gives her most naturalistic performance and you can't help but root for her.

It's watchable, albeit frustrating seeing characters make one dumb decision after another.

Well—and this especially applies to the horror genre—no dumb decisions = no action = no movie.

The latter history of China through the Peking Opera and its two stars. Beautiful to look at, good score, "epic" tale...

This haunting score really brings me back to the period in time when I discovered it, and was my introduction to composer Zhao Jiping.

Haven't ever heard anything else by him.

edit: Oh, that' s a lie. I have heard Raise the Red lantern, and Ju Dou and The Story of Qiu Ju inside the film.

And don't fornicate. "Jason" doesn't like that.

Hey, the puritanical Apple AutoFill feature doesn't recognize "fornicate." I guess they want to create a future with no fornication in it. lol

Jurassic World 1 is on TV. I really like the Indominus Wrecks sequence, the editing and Giacchino's score really sell the growing desperation and horror.

Now, the movie overall is crap. But it's still watchable and mostly entertaining. One of those shit movies that I don't mind the crappiness.

The sequels though...

How can it be "mostly entertaining" but also "overall crap"? I demand a detailed explanation! :)
