KK. Yes. It's one of three movies that gave me sleepless nights. The writing is amazing and the score is super fantastic.

Sounds familiar LOL. Wow. I'll need to watch it again. I didn't get that at all. I thought they did a great job with the severely depressed mental states.

They DID do a great job with the mental states of the characters. It was integral to the entire atmosphere of the film. Everything was masterfully executed.

And I see you and Quint have changed their avatars. Balance is restored at last!

Looks like 720p, still looks absolutely stunning though. Lucasfilm productions of the eighties have that special something - the lighting, the sets, the minute details in the background, the very special Elstree interiors. Love it.

The Muppets - 5/10

I didn't even bother to see it.

I had a blast. Enjoyed it even more than some of the Henson originals -- sacrilege, I know.

I thought so too. It was well written enough to even mess with my brain at night. I thought it was appropriately melodramatic for its time.

Balance has been restored, for now........

I heard lots of great things. I've got it on Blu but have yet to actually sit down and watch.

I can see why people who actually likes/enjoys the muppets enjoyed the film, but I don't think I've ever watched anything muppet-related except for the film and a few youtube clips.

but I really tried to like it.

watch it and tell us what you think, koray!

I'm having a let down......

I loved fragile rock growing up as well as the muppets but they just don't in me the way they used to.

12 Angry Men

Superbly scripted, and the plot achieves something which I suspected at the beginning, but never seriously thought would follow through (

The 'not guilty' juror converting all the others

).

and To Kill a Mockingbird

A great story which really maintained my interest well, although much of that was Bernstein's wonderful score. Great child performances too.

Both are brilliant films, especially the first one!

I'm not a muppet fanatic, but I love Muppet Treasure Island and Jason Segel.

We watched Sherlock Holmes. It was not a bad movie.

I have to admit....I didn't hate zimmer's score, thought it worked well within the context of the film. It wasn't mixed so forward like the first film.

then we watched the Boy in the Striped Pajamas.

It's a well made film that leaves you devastated.

Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief

Amusing film by the director of Harry Potter & The Philosophers Stone and Adventures in Babysitting. This film is a sort of mix of both these earlier efforts.

Rather a clever story with some nice nods to Greek mythology, obvious but fun special effects, cool cameo's and a nice zippy pace. Perfect Sunday night entertainment

**1/2 out of ****

The Horse Whisperer - 7.2/10

Intouchables - 8.6/10 - such a wonderful feel-good film. afterwards we put on earth, wind & fire on the highest volume and danced till we were all sweaty lol. based on a true story too. I highly recommend it.

On the one hand, I feel this is very well done. On the other hand, with the narrative jumping back and forth in time, the countless names, faces and dates, (you know, typical spy stuff) made it too confusing for me to be involved. Maybe I need to see this again to fully appreciate it. The music of Iglesias is one of the more interesting scores I've heard in a long time. Must check it out. 5/10

Sounds like a film for me. I've been interested for a while. I like Alfredson's previous film (it's all I've seen from him).

Alex seems to hate plots.

In this case, I have to disagree. This particular film needs to be convoluted. I couldn't exactly follow the story. But it seems to be all about confusion and certain paranoia anyway...

I watched Raging Bull last night. Its been a while since I sat through a good ol' Scorecese film. One of the man's best. A fascinating character study and De Niro's is mesmerizing.

Chris Nolan plots irritate me most. Convoluted and aggrandized to cover up the wafer thin filmic substance, I wish he'd give it a rest.

Thank you, Quint!

Alex - thinking about Inception

How is Inception convoluted? It's perfectly followable!

Mulan

Still holds up really, really well. The songs are okay, but Jerry Goldsmith's score really elevates the film. Animation is still really good, and Eddie Murphy's Mushu is much less grating than his Donkey in the Shrek movies.

No, the plot is complicated. It's actually celebrated for it.
