I remember I listened to the samples before KOTCS and Memoirs came out.

I vowed never to do it again.

I will probably listen to the OS album a couple of times, and THEN go see the movie.

First watch the film, then listen the cd, i don't know what to do. I'll be dissapointed with both ways.

I wonder how much he micro-edited this one.

Is anyone going to take notes while watching the (downloaded) film?

I made an effort to resist KotCS samples as much as I could until after I saw the film. There was a week long period where I owned the OST but had never listened to it.

But since I care less about these films than I do Indiana Jones, I'll probably listen to the album as soon as it arrives, and listen to any samples released (but probably only once or twice).

First listen to the c.d. than watch the film

Don't you mean: first memorize the CD, then watch the film and gasp and moan from disappointment whenever you come across an unreleased cue. ;)

Will listen to every sample available

Will d/l the album as soon as it becomes available

Will buy the c.d. as soon as I see it in stores

Valid for War Horse too

I've found that listening to the score beforehand a few times (on CD) gives you a more powerful experience when you see the movie for the first time rather than seeing/hearing the movie/score for the first time together.

You may hear little snippets that might be familiar and starting to grow on you, etc.

But again, I won't listen to any samples. (Says he.)

Looks like folks in US are going to get it almost at the same time as everyone else.

Oh and Jason, a small request. Could you change the topic title to Tintin instead of TinTin, please. ;)

You know, it looks like that's actually the price to import the UK version into the US, you get it about a week after the UK release date. Makes me wonder if the release date for the real USA version of the soundtrack will actually be at the end of December near the release of the film, and will be on a different Amazon link

The fact that it's in capital letters on posters doesn't help the americans to know how you're supposed to write it. They're still stucked with RinTinTin in their minds. Bah!

Just the sort of spelling error one can expect from that Leblanc!

It's odd that the Japanese version is listed as an import from the US, but the US version is listed as an import (probably from the UK).

There'll be a Japanese version too, I bet. It's just not listed yet.

If it's a big movie, there is always a Japanese version.

hey, amazon has Roald's cover! (has it been mentioned already?)

http://www.amazon.co...16370934&sr=8-1

http://www.amazon.de...17804386&sr=1-4

That's the official cover; not mine. ;)

Although how strange: Williams not credited on the cover....? Huh...?

But they forgot to include "Music Composed and Conducted by John Williams"!!!

Or is that just cut off?

Gotta be honest, I don't see much difference between your cover, Roald, and the official cover. Except that the lines "Original Motion Picture Soundtrack" and "Music Composed and Conducted by John Williams" are missing, of course.

Is this really the official cover? Isn't this just a temporary one, borrowed from the movie poster?

Oh yeah. ;)

I wonder whether "Music Composed and Conducted by JW" will go on top, or what.

yeah, but Williams name is no were to be seen! Maybe his score has been rejected and 30 second clips is all we will ever hear!

And it still says

The Adventures Of Tin Tin

Various Artists (Artist)

What's up with that?

Heh well if the cover on the Amazon is correct then Sony has given us the cover I always wanted. I love the moody atmosphere of the Tintin and Snowy in the night and the Unicorn in the background.

I would have thought that the mention of John Williams and Reneé Fleming would have been a better selling point on the cover than various artists or just Music from the Motion Picture.

Perhaps not with the younger public. "I want that CD! It's music and it's got Tintin on the cover!" as opposed to "Oh no, it's by that old fart again".

I guess they'll credit Williams with "music made by some guy with an orchestra" in the liner notes to avoid teenagers not buying the CD.
