Dear God, this is starting to become a real-life thriller!

My guess is, there will be 2 versions. An American version (18 tracks + bonus track) and an international version (19 tracks).

How do you know the track times?

Karol

I already asked him that, but it's a secret. ;)

They are giving europeans more music because we deserve it. We know and cherish Tintin.

Until recently, americans didn't even know who the hell Tintin is.

 For all that, it's an American movie...

It must be the only American movie, that has its premiere in US a month after it's released in Europe. :P

Not 1 month, my friend. 2 months.

The premiere in France is on October 22, opening day in the US is December 21. ;)

There are now 3 websites that list the 18 track version with no "Picking Pockets" and the final track called "The Adventure Continues":

And 4 websites that list the 19 track version with "Picking Pockets" and the final track called "A Thirst For Adventure"

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B005KWAWJ2/

http://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B005KWAWJ2/

Interestingly, Amazon Japan says their version is "imported from the US"..... I hope that means we are getting the 19 track version here!

Still for some reason Williams' Devil's Dance keeps playing in my head as I see all the different info on the CD. ;)

That's even better. :D (it's just a little Schadenfreude from my part, having been made to wait till September to watch The Phantom Menace back in 1999)

I just home Tintin the movie is better than TPM, though!

September 17th. These months did hurt like hell. I can remember it all, day by day. ;)

Strangely enough, soundtrack album was available at the beginning of May.

Yes, I bought it right on. I would play this cassette so extensively, it ultimately shattered.

it's still my favourite prequel.

That was at the time when I still thought soundtrack albums presented the music as it was meant to be heard in the film. So when I finally watched it I thought "They butchered it!". Which, of course, did happen. But in a different way.

I guess it hurt even more when you finally saw the film.

Not really. I kind of enjoyed my first showing. But my sister said "You didn't like it, did you? I can see it on your face" when we left the cinema. There was something missing from it, but I couldn't yet put my finger on it.

 Oh the days of innocent youth!

Thanks to the old JW site I began little by little understand how the soundtrack business works. I was expecting naturally something like the RCA SW sets from the Prequels as well. How naivé I was back then. And how obsessed I have become. :P

It just occurred to me that there probably aren't 2 versions, only 1.

If there were 2 versions the ASIN number: B005KWAWJ2 (on the amazon sites) would be different, too, wouldn't they?

Which means only one track listing is correct...

Yes it would seem to mean that. Not that I had any delusions that there would be more than one. I find it funny that half of the Amazon sites just have a different track list than the other half.

I want my The Scroll / To Pankot Palace to have the choral and percussion overlay! I also hear they are including an unreleased statement of the Pankot Palace theme in this track. But the choral and percussion overlay is the most important thing at the moment!

I'm buying the set only if the set contains the properly assembled tank sequence from LC.

Karol

It will never happen. But I strongly believe we will get more ToD ceremonial chant music from the second ceremony!

As I said before I hope we end up with the 19 track version of the Tintin soundtrack. The pessimist in me says that it is wishful thinking since the harsh realities usually mean less of everything if there is even a slight possibility for it. On the other hand the haphazard way of sending CD info to different outlets by Sony is ridiculous and irritating but certainly would not be the first time.

What I am more curious about is the total lack of promotion for this soundtrack. I know it is a month before the release in Europe (less than a month actually) but you would think Sony would promote a new JW score in some way at least. I should think his name is still marketable enough and the new film certainly is. In this day and age I would have expected more from Sony. Their website is a poor excuse for a company of such size, so many record labels under their wings. No lists of upcoming releases, except for few main stream pop artists but that seems to be it. Even the old Sony Classical had a brilliant website compared to the current heap of non-information.
