Every time I venture into this shitty excuse for a sub forum I've forgotten who said what where and where I might have said something the day before. I'm just put off even bothering looking in the first place because there's so many duplicate threads; threads with conversations about the movies in the album threads and convos about the albums in the movie threads; threads which split music discussion in two and threads created which could have just been posted into other relevent threads. Its needless thread city and it's just a pain to navigate through all the untidy rubbish. I've honestly found myself missing out on interesting discussions because I assumed a thread subject in question didn't appeal to me, but then I've taken a quick peek inside on the off-chance only to find that a few days earlier folks were chatting about an unrelated aspect I'd have definitely chimed in over since it was interesting to me, unlike the official thread topic itself.

It's not like GD where the topics and subjects are clear-cut and easy to distinguish; when I come here I just see Tintin Tintin Tintin Tintin and War Horse War Horse War Horse War Horse. Wouldn't it just be easier and more straightforward to have two separate stickies - one for Tintin, one for War Horse - where the conversation in either simply encapsulates EVERYTHING regarding each movie and score? I mean, why not?

Come on, who's supposed to be in charge of housekeeping here? Poor job.

How long does it take usually for Amazon to provide sample links after an album has been given a page?

I am kidding!!!

I'll give you that one for free!

I've noticed you've had your witty head on lately and your Fast Show links haven't gone unnoticed, either ;)

Cheers man - I knew I couldn't be the only one around here who found that youtube video more interesting than the friggin Oscars! ;)

In all seriousness, I agree with Steef and think that this should be moved back to General Discussion; it's somewhat annoying - from a lazy guy's point of view - to surf to two different boards, and it'd probably get a lot less cluttered there.

When we have only two threads - one for War Horse and one for Tintin - then you get two or three members going off on some tangent (ie the non-English tangent in that one thread) that is tedious to sift through and annoying enough to stop reading the thread entirely, which causes you to miss what interesting discussion there is. I say keep the subforum. If you want organized information, stick to the main page.

You haven't read my post properly at all: I've resigned to the fact the sub forum is here to stay. I'm just asking nicely for someone to tidy it up for the annoying reasons I stated. Not too much to ask...

I disagree with you btw that two or three members "going off on a tangent" is tedious. Because that absolutely depends on who is involved...

I personally find the tangents of the few far more readable than the bland ramblings of the many.

Aren't you advocating two sticky threads for Tintin and War Horse?

Then I'm refuting your suggestion. The primary complaint is understandable, though it doesn't bother me as much as it does you.

I don't think there's anything wrong with a tangent, I've had a few myself. But when a subject is confined to a single thread, those tangents can dominate discussion, and it's nice to have other threads that contain serious discussion about a topic.

Unless the mods issue a rule not to digress (under no circumstances, ever) and enforce it strictly, there will always be a bit of a mess in these threads.

To be honest, I don't really mind. Right now, I am mainly interested in Tintin and WH, so I just read every thread in this subforum.

Yes, I agree.

Well, you should come up with suggestions then, I think. Which threads should be combined, and how?

I think the place is a little cluttered but most of the first posts in e.g. Track list threads contain the updated versions of the essential information thanks to Jason.

Indeed

I love how Quint gets mad at me in the main forum for trying to categorize things, and move posts in the right thread. Then in this forum, that's exactly what he wants me to do!

Just do like everyone else and read every thread in this forum. Expecting that while discussing the movie the score won't come up, or while discussing the track list a discussion of what scenes from the movie they are for won't come up is pretty ludicrous.

Quint, thinking that this forum would come to an end foolishly pledged to donate some money if it would return.

Now it has, but being the tight bastard that he is doesn't wanna pay and creates an argument to create some obvious motivation.

It's really pathetic, but exactly what I expected him to be doing.

I don't think are really even all that disorganized.

For Tintin, we have:

Tintin general anticipation thread: Spielberg & Jackson team up for TINTIN!

Tintin general score discussion: The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret Of the Unicorn by John Williams

Tintin OST tracklist discussion:Which Tintin track list is real?

And then a thread for each new trailer/commercial that comes out. Maybe those could have been combined but what can I say - people are excited!

Then the rest are polls, which have to be their own thread so you can add a poll.

For War Horse, we have:

War Horse general anticipation thread: Spielberg settles on new film: "War Horse"

First War Horse trailer: First War Horse teaser trailer includes Williams score

Second War Horse trailer: Full War Horse trailer coming early October

War Horse OST tracklist:War Horse Original Soundtrack - tracklist being revealed

I dunno. It's an exciting time! Things are messy. I'm not gonna lose any sleep over it.

Get the fuck out of my face you smartarsed blert. When I do make a contribution later in the week you will not find me openly announcing it in the donations thread unlike shallow toe rag's like yourself.

Jason, you may as well lock this. Thanks for your replies.
