Remember, the track list contains SPOILERS!!!

Here is Google's translation of the German text on the page:

"Beauty and Quiet Majesty" – First Listen von John Williams’ "War Horse"

The Cinema Musica is very happy with Sony Music, the exclusive First Listen to John Williams' War Horse (2011) to present.

Less than three weeks ago, since at this point the first few minutes of John Williams' new film score for The Adventures of Tintin were listening to The Secret of the Unicorn (2011) and have followed each 30-second clips of all 16 pieces of Williams' next score, War Horse (2011).

As cited in the title, director Steven Spielberg describes the recent work of his court composer with the words "Quiet Beauty and Majesty" and comes to becoming a traditional liner notes are no longer out of the shoals. After hearing the following clips should be quickly realized why Spielberg puts it effusively. War Horse shows Williams on top form once more, with this album can be viewed as an absolutely remarkable contrast to program music for Tintin. What we hear a very ardent, dramatic, inviting you to dream, melancholy music rather à la The Patriot. This shift away from the light-footed, action-packed and cheeky way to score Tintin Spielberg War Horse may well also here, as it did in 2005 at the following words to motivate the publication of the soundtrack to Munich:

"Each of these scores only had the composer in common. The compositions couldn’t be more diverse, and clearly illustrates what I have been saying for years in my liner notes, that John Williams is a master of disguise. (Steven Spielberg, 2005) "

John Williams' score for War Horse (2011) appears likely on 22 November 2011 at Sony Music, and features 67 minutes from the finest from the pen of the legendary maestro.

At this point, the Cinema Musica want a sincere thank you to Mr. Martin Korn, classical music label manager, speak of SONY MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT (Switzerland) GmbH.

If forum members enjoy this British inflected score, from the samples available, they might enjoy the John Williams conducted Pops Britannia cd of music.

This is the same website that chose horrible samples for Tintin as well. It wasn't until cinezik.fr posted samples that we got a real idea of what the CD was like.

JWFAN will be debuting different 30 second samples tomorrow :D

It is. If you guys liked the action music in "No Man's Land", just wait till you hear "The Charge and Capture"!

My head's in a spin as I move back and forth between a dose of the Tintin cd and then these War Horse samples. Imagine what it must be like directing both projects 'simultaneously' !

Tintin was just being rendered while he directed War Horse. He had already shot and edited Tintin before he began filming War Horse

So you have the CD right in your hands... :) Lucky you!

Any confirmation about the alleged adaptation from the stage show songs?

Its intresting that there is piano in the track 'POST EDITED' because it could mean that "FilmComposer518" could have got it slightly wrong and the piano is at the end of the film, but just not in the credits. Love the sound of 'Plowing' though  sounds like part of the trailer music which is just phenomenal! Getting very good vibes for this score ;)

Holy mother... this looks more and more like a definitive masterpiece. Period.

The level of musical intensity all throughout is terrific. It seems Williams found a truly heartfelt inspiration for this film.

I guess most FSM board members won't share your enthusiasm. ;) It's in many ways interesting to notice how large fraction of film music fans community actually depreciate Williams' (recent) efforts.

We've already speculated that track 15 is indeed the finale and the end credits, while track 16 is a concert arrangement.

I really don't know what more we could ask from Williams today. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion of course, but frankly I've had enough with the cynicism and nastiness on the FSM boards to the point I barely visit them anymore. There are quite a few smart people who post there, but their contributions are literally buried by a zillion of whiny nerd-y comments. It's not just the fact there's someone who doesn't like Williams' new efforts (I like constructive criticism and opinionated arguments), but most of the negative comments are just one-liners like "He's old and should retire", "He doesn't have it anymore", "He's a spent force", etc.

When I listened to the Tintin soundtrack for the first time I thought to myself: "How this 80 year old man can even conduct something as energetic?" He has more fire than all the others.

From the samples it sounds like an action score.

Karol

Yes I was suprised how much action music their was. The constant snare drum seems to be a recurring feature in the action music and its a great touch.

This sounds absolutely beautiful! Even if the samples aren't exactly well chosen, it still sounds pure Williams brilliance!

:worship:

Edit: Now that I think about, the action cues have a quite cool Spartacus-like feel. Not exactly reminiscent of that style, but they sound -at least to my uneducated ears- like gladiators fighting each other. For example, No Man's Land could fit quite nicely alongside Yared's Troy. Anyone else agree?

Wow even though you guys claim these are badly chosen clips the music still sounds absolutely beautiful, heartfelt and powerful. Every passage in the short clips seems to sound truly inspired with a great sense of drama and musicality. :)

Dammit, I just read one of the spoiler-ish track titles by mistake (although I saw Jason's warning).

Oh well.

But yeah, the music is absolutely gorgeous. Btw, if this hasn't been mentioned here yet, amazon.uk and amazon Germany are also releasing this November 22 or thereabouts! :)

Cool! I am ordering ASAP!

EDIT: If and when they decide to release this. Another release date conundrum for all of us with Amazon once again presenting two different release dates for the European release. :P

This score as I said is from the other end of the spectrum. Tintin is fast and busy and dense with a sense of fun and adventure. War Horse seems more spacious, lyric and dramatic, very emotional. It is a blessing to get these two in the same year.

Okay, amazon France is releasing this on November 21 too.

No way the UK is the only European country to release this in January!

From my experiences many UK citizens don't consider their country to be a part of Europe.

Karol

That's right. They consider it to be part of the African continent! :P

Sometimes this island jumps in time. ;)

Obviously the current guardian does not allow certain soundtracks to arrive on the Island before their appointed date. They were chosen for a reason.

I'm loving what I'm hearing. :) There's almost an Alan Menken-esque feel about the melodies. They're so hummable, flowing and natural. Combined with the English Vaughan Williams/Elgar influences creates a very majestic, sophisticated sound. It sounds like this score is going to have a lot to offer!

Never, even in a million years, had I thought Williams could come up with such knockout scores for BOTH, Tintin and War Horse.

Some of that music makes me shiver, and I don't even have the faintest clue what the film is about, except a horse.

The Williams I can listen to from beginning to end is back!

And I recently was able to put my finger on the point why exactly I adore both Tintin and War Horse indefinitely more than all the other scores. I feel like they don't treat the listener like an idiot.

Well, that's tantalizing, because these samples are gorgeous nonetheless. I think I'll wait for the full album now, I don't want to spoil myself too much--it worked for Tintin, so I think I'll do it again :)
