pixie_twinkle 44
http://www.duttonvoc...p?prod=CDLK4461After their excellent reissue of Geoff Love's two albums Themes for Super Heroes, and Big Terror Movie Themes earlier this year (combined onto a single CD), Dutton Vocalion has paired two more classic Geoff Love albums for their latest release. Big Suspense Movie Themes, and Big Bond Movie Themes. I know this release may not be of general interest here, but for those of you like me who grew up on these albums (and for whom this was the first time you heard many of these themes) it's a really exciting release. DV is a UK company, but they ship to the US for a reasonable price. I ended up getting charged twenty bucks for the CD and shipping. Well worth it for these classic memories! pixie_twinkle 44
At last! I've been waiting for these two albums to get reissued unedited on CD for a long time! Dutton Vocalion announces release of Star Wars and Other Space Themes, coupled with Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Other Disco Galactic Themes. I got both these albums for Christmas 1978, and played the crap out of them. In fact I would go so far as to say these two albums helped get me interested in film scores.Although the link doesn't mention it, apparently (according to their catalogue) this is to be a complete and unedited 2-CD set.http://www.duttonvocalion.co.uk/proddetail.asp?prod=CDSML8497

JamieC 13
Wow! What a memory-lane moment.I remember the Geoff Love Star Wars album on vinyl. I haven't thought about that in a while, I have to say, but I agree: it certainly fired my interest in film music. I remember listening to the album frequently when I was growing up in south London in the 1970s.
pixie_twinkle 44
Thanks for the link, MSM.Jamie, I assume you're English then , if Geoff Love is a part of your childhood like mine. Pretty sure his albums were only available in the UK, but then who knows.
Naïve Old Fart 6,637
Whoa, Pixie!!! Goeff Love is a name I haven't heard since...oh, before you were born...or, at least, the mid-70s. This is great. Thanks for that.
pixie_twinkle 44
You're welcome. I've been following these wonderful CD releases since Dutton Vocalion started issuing them a couple of years ago. Like you, I've been a fan of Geoff Love since the mid-late 70s. Naïve Old Fart 6,637
Too right! The original cover for the disaster movies L.P. was striking.
