filmmusic 1,826
Did anyone know that we can find ALL the cue titles (almost?) Williams ever written (especially for films) here?http://repertoire.bm...WILLIAMS+JOHN+Tbut unfortunately they are in alphabetical order by cue tilte without naming the film!!!!!So, if you see a cue title "At home", you must know from what film is it.Well, other cue titles that are characteristic, you know already: e.g.The turbulent years (from Nixon)If you put e.g. "end credits" in the search bar in the title, it will reveal 100s of cues named like this (from other composers who are affiliated with BMI too). Of course if you check to show you alternate names too you might find "end titles from Monsignor".but the search isn't good either.for example for "turbulent years" cue which you can see in the 1st page, you can't find it if you put it in the search bar, even if you write it in capitals.same for other cues that I found individually browsing the pages e.g. Fast streets of Shangai, Stanley and iris main title, keyes arrives, keys enters house (from E.t.) etc..(Maybe I should open a new thread about this?) filmmusic 1,826
I made a pdf of the entire cue list (4435 entries) for easier search:The cues that don't have a BMI work #number are either BG cues (don't know what that stands for), or cues that were probably not written by Williams as I see. Don't know why they are mixed up.http://www.sendspace.com/file/q3zlb1I did a test with the Reivers cue list, and it found them all, except for "Ned tries it out."Maybe it has been registered under another name.. Thor 7,493
BG cues (don't know what that stands for)I guess it means "background cues" (i.e. source music)Yeah, that's a reasonable guess. In India, they call the score BGM (background music) as opposed to the songs, but I think 'source cue' is the more likely interpretation here.Nice resource you found, btw, filmmusic. As you know, I have no interest in complete scores on CD and such, but should one ever do a film analysis of any of his films, they can be quite valuable. filmmusic 1,826
Oh, great!!!funny, i had thought that it may go by BMI number, but i had found a Home alone cue, and another home alone by another composer had a near number, so I thought I doesn't go like this after all..So, if we sort out the cue titles by BMI number, maybe we'll find something..But I'm afraid I don't know how to do it.How can anyone copy the list in an excel file and then sort out by raising number of the 3rd column?edit: Oh, think I've found it!! edit 2: Unfortunately, it's no use.Harry Potter 3 happened to be in order like this (accoridng to BMI numbers), but other aren't. Score 770
This is really a great resource to get cue titles! But attention must be paid. Besides the fact that some scores are not well ordered, as noticed by filmmusic, it seems that we should search also for CD titles. For example, in the case of Azkaban I've found also the following: 7010322 Lumos (Hedwig's Theme) 7010328 Window to the Past 7010330 Secrets of the Castle 7010331 Portrait Gallery 7010332 Hagrid the Professor 7010333 Monster Books and Boggarts 7010335 Lupin's Transformation and Chasing Scabbers 7010336 Patronus Light 7010339 Forward to Time Past 7010340 Dementors Converge 7010342 Mischief ManagedI think "Lumos" and "Patronus Light" are not included in the list starting at 7051681, while maybe the others are included with other titles or as the union of some cues. In any case, that BMI site is a great source of information.

publicist 4,643
This should work fine for James Horner with titles like ' A distant Memory of a faraway Time' or 'Never an absolution for those you so loved' but a pain in the ass for Jerry Goldsmith with billions of cue names like 'Do it', 'Deal', 'Grave' or ''Cemetary'.Good database, though. lordskylark 1
From going through the cue lists... it seems that generic titles are not usually saved (I wonder if they are not allowed to be copyrighted???). But it seems that almost every title is either a title involving the name of a character or a line of dialogue directly from the movie.
