The woozy delayed percussion is the secret sauce of that cue anyway.  The weird vocals are just icing.

Couple that with the E to F lydian pads  tying into Saria's/Lost Woods theme, and you got one of Kondo's best Zelda dungeon tracks! Never to surpass...the one.

The release date is March 18th, says right on the Amazon page

And almost none of Nintendo's OSTs are available for streaming.  They are way behind the times in that regard.  Square Enix finally got on the ball for that last year

The decision to have the gameboy and switch artwork on their corresponding CDs is just absolutely brilliant.

Edit: Wait, can you purchase this if you're in North America?  @Jay

Yes.  I created a Japanese Amazon account to order the Zelda 30th anniversary concert CD release.

Hmm, Chrome translates at least enough for me to basically know where to click and what the text fields are, I dunno what to tell you.  According to Google it's $44.50 USD.

You guys don't need to use Chrome to translate the page; Amazon JP offers an English version:

I have ordered stuff from Amazon JP in the past and received it with no issues.  I preordered this box set just now!

I can't recall now if I set it up completely separate or if it was connected to my US account. I did it a while back to get Xenoblade 2, BOTW, and Odyssey.   If it was completely separate its not like it took long.

For anyone interested in academic writing about video game music, the 2nd ever issue of the new Journal of Sound and Music in Games has an article that examines and compares the title demo cues of Wind Waker and Twilight Princess.

I believe this article is currently free for everyone

https://online.ucpress.edu/jsmg/article/1/2/44/106833/History-and-Reception-in-the-Music-of-The-Legend

Here's the abstract

Quote

This article argues that the music of opening peritexts within two The Legend of Zelda games reflects their reception history and continuity within the series mythology. On the one hand, “The Legendary Hero” peritext of The Wind Waker mirrors the game's reception history as one of departure from a Zelda tradition established by Ocarina of Time, which caused controversy initially yet gained acceptance in the long term. The audiovisual components of “The Legendary Hero” all position gamers to consider the events of Ocarina of Time as old, submerged under the Great Sea. Textual references to “legend” and “myth,” visual cues of antique art and runes, and musical cues harkening to medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque tropes within Western music—all these serve to depart from Zelda tropes.

On the other hand, the title-screen peritext of Twilight Princess restores the legacy of Ocarina of Time. Reception of the former always includes its nostalgic, intimately connected relationship to the latter. Consequently, Twilight Princess garnered immediate praise but became problematic in the long term. The audiovisual components of the title-screen peritext position gamers to reestablish continuity with Zelda tropes. Visual and musical cues reach across several previous games and as far back as the original The Legend of Zelda game, all of which orient players back to traditions from which the franchise had departed for years. Thus the music of the peritext enables players to engage in Zelda's potential for self-reference more apparently than its adoption of Western-music tropes, as in Wind Waker.

The peritexts of Wind Waker and Twilight Princess complement each other and allow us to understand more critically the reception and historiography of each game, how the music can reveal a deeper understanding of narrative themes characteristic of each game, and their placement within the Zelda mythology.

I would love to get my hands on the Roland Sound Canvas to try to recreate the Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask scores in better quality. I'm surprised someone hasn't done something like that yet.

Orchestrations are always fun, but when I listen to video game reorchestrations I always like for them to be 1:1 as far as translating to better sounds--or at least capture the original spirit of the piece as best you can. A good example of this is this:

Forest Maze--Super Mario RPG by Trend Orchestra.

A really great guy named Sam Miller has managed to nab all of the original samples from the SNES DKC games and is remaking them in the highest quality possible, taking out the compression and leaving Wise, Beanland, and Fisher's beautiful work intact.

Aquatic Ambience

I want to do something similar to what Sam has done for those great soundtracks and make the Zelda games sound a little better. I know the N64 doesn't have nearly as bad a compression but I feel like those songs could be done more justice with a revisit. I mean, just listening to Grant Kirkhope's uncompressed soundtracks for his N64 repertoire against the originals is crazy.

I've been dying, though, to hear a good Gregorian Chant version of the Temple of Time that's as straightforward as the version in the game. Too many people try to embellish that track. Just give me a bunch of guys singing that melody in unison as they do in the game and leave the rest alone.

Hmmmmm

The score to "Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity", has been ripped and uploaded to Youtube, if anyone wants to check it out (hopefully an official release comes along!)

Yes, I'm replaying through it right now (after I just finished a replay of Link's Awakening Switch).  This playthrough (my third), I prioritized finding Master Ores so I could upgrade my sword ASAP to make the world easier to explore fast.  So my sage dungeon order had to start Thieves Hideout, Desert Palace, Dark Palace.

Nice, I've only played it once but loved every minute of it.  I consider Link To The Past -> Link's Awakening -> Link Between Worlds to be the top tier Zelda 2D experiences

Yes for sure, although I do enjoy the three Capcom ones too.  I keep hoping for a Link's Awakening style remake of Ages/Seasons so I haven't revisited those since they came out on 3DS.

I can't wait to play those as soon as I can find the time

Zelda 2 for NES was never a favorite of mine.  I wouldn't mind a remake with different mechanics and difficulty but same general story and experience
