Omen II 1,298 Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Someone (it may have been Quint?) was lamenting the paucity of John Williams concerts in England's Northwest in John Williams's 80th birthday year. Well, I post because I care!http://www.liverpoolphil.com/?lid=8920The dependable Richard Kaufman conducts the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra on 6th October 2012 at the Philharmonic Hall. There is also a shorter, family concert for the little'uns earlier the same afternoon.
crocodile 9,583 Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 I might come if you guys are going. I'd like to meet you two and there's no homo-erotic undercurrent here. I think.Karol
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,052 Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Like we didn't all knew that!
Jim 6,258 Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Should have known that talk of mens arses would bring you out of the woodwork!
Omen II 1,298 Posted June 5, 2012 Author Posted June 5, 2012 Are you going? It's unlikely that I will be able to, Quint - but never say never. Perhaps if I wasn't already spoiled with so much live Williams fare closer to home this year!If you and / or Karol do go, Richard Kaufman is the ideal conductor. He is a champion of Golden Age film music and a good pal of John Williams, having played the violin on a few of his soundtracks, including Jaws. It will be interesting to see the exact programme.
Jim 6,258 Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Sounds great, I must say. And thanks for the heads up. Might see you there
Greg1138 3 Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Will depend a lot on what happens to my job over the next few months, but for the time being - count me in too.
Omen II 1,298 Posted October 14, 2012 Author Posted October 14, 2012 So, did anyone here go to this concert in the end? "PHOENIX' posted a copy of a letter from JW so I am guessing that he may have been there (http://www.jwfan.com...showtopic=22242).It would be interesting to read what selections were played.
