3.

Can't remember the name of the cue, but I believe it's from Star Wars

5.

The Mine Car Chase from Temple of Doom

No idea about 10!

I agree with n. 5, I have just found it as well. And I also had the same suspect as you about n. 3, but I am not completely sure... it may also be from: (follows in white color) The Empire Strikes Back

and for several reasons I think this option is more likely, although I cannot verify it in this moment.

Ah yes, absolutely !

I thought it was obvious too with the first one ;)

So...#10 remains to be found, here's some more :

Here's one score I just came upon, 600 pages of this

( there's absolutely no woodwind at all, just brass, mostly low-pitched in unison, and strings with an occasional choir....for 600 pages )

1. INCEPTION - Can tell by the ensemble and date.

2. A Williams cue orchestrated by Conrad Pope. Maybe something from one of the Harry Potter films?

3. SPEED - Mark Mancina

4. VERTIGO - Bernard Herrmann

5. Something by Giacchino? THE INCREDIBLES perhaps?

6. QUILLS - Stephen Warbeck?

7. Not a clue

8 horns, so it has to be from the 90s onwards.

Why is that?

It just became more common for action blockbusters, thanks to composers like Danny Elfman, Alan Silvestri, Christopher Young, Trevor Rabin, Mark Mancina, Elliot Goldenthal and others. Even Williams jumped on the bandwagon with TPM and ROTS.

Why? Possibly the increasing prominence of sound fx.

You're taking about measure 90 (5:22 in Jedi Master Revealed/Mynock Cave), right? I take back my statement that Williams only used 6, but that's still a one-off. He wanted a bizarre/grotesque Herrmannesque effect for the reveal of the space slug (Herrmann loved using 8 horns - especially in his Harryhausen scores) - so he wrote four part minor triads in 16th notes - rolling around chromatically in parallel motion - with the 8 horns double-tonguing.

As someone who's studied a number of fully orchestrated cues from the score, I can tell you the standard number of horns is 6 or 4. Even the largest musical tableaux in the score - The Battle of Hoth - which calls for 5 oboes and 2 pianos - only has 6.

Taking the plunge and registering in order to play. Hi everyone!

#3 is Unbreakable. Nifty little tune.

Also, that excerpt from Lost - do you know what cue/what episode it's from? So familiar but I can't place it.

ALSO...where exactly do you acquire these full scores?

#1 is good

5 is Azkaban

Correct !

6 looks like Alexander Courage's handwriting.

It is indeed his handwriting
