Jay 37,322
INTRADA Announces:THE QUILLER MEMORANDUMMusic Composed and Conducted by JOHN BARRYINTRADA Special Collection Vol. 201John Barry's classic 1966 score to The Quiller Memorandum finally returns to print after being absent and elusive for many years. The original 1967 Columbia Records soundtrack LP was reissued on CD by Varèse Sarabande in 1988, but has been long out of print -- in fact the LP is easier to find than the CD. The score features a moody and atmospheric John Barry effort in his distinctive '60s style. Barry composed a main theme that was almost childlike in its simplicity. “It was a kind of simple waltz melody which went against the picture,” the composer recalled, and he subjected it to a number of interesting variations and arrangements throughout the picture.Starring George Segal, Max Von Sydow, and Alec Guinness, The Quiller Memorandum tells a provocative story of the recent up-cropping of neo-Nazism in Germany, and of the British and American agents who work to uncover it in cooperation with the West German government.INTRADA Special Collection Vol. 201Retail Price: $19.99Available NowFor track listing and sound samples, please visithttp://store.intrada.com/s.nl/it.A/id.7635/.fQUILLER MEMORANDUM, THELabel: Intrada Special Collection Volume 201 Date: 1966Tracks: 13Time = 35:12 Cool, classic John Barry soundtrack for superb Michael Anderson spy thriller starring George Segal, Alec Guinness, Max Von Sydow, Senta Berger.
