DEUTSCHMASTERED BY MIKE MATESSINOLINER NOTES BY JEFF BONDART DIRECTION BY JIM TITUSMichael Kamen is back with a vengeance at La-La Land Records with this spectacular 2 cd set brought to you courtesy of Sony Music and 20th Century Fox . Literally years in the making, this explosive set features over 2 hours of music written and recorded for the third film in the Die Hard franchise. The soundtrack that was released back in 1995 only contained only a fair amount of score, songs and some classical cues that were not ever featured in the final film. This newly expanded release gives the fans what they have been clamoring for…and then some. Not only are we releasing the score as written for the film, but also several rejected tracks never heard until now. If you are fan of high octane, action packed scoring this is a must have release!DISC ONE1 Summer in the City 2:44 Performed by The Lovin’ Spoonful (John Sebastian/Mark Sebastian/Steve Boone)2 Main Title*:193 Goodbye Bonwits 6:284 John and Zeus 3:205 Taxi* 1:516 Neat Bomb* 2:117 Papaya King 5:198 72nd Street Phone* 3:189 Taxi Chase* 5:0810 The Subway (Part 1)* 4:2411 The Subway (Part 2)* 2:1512 Take A-nother Train 2:5413 Feds* 4:4214 Rings a Bell* 8:2815 Infiltration* 5:3316 Bank Invasion* 4:1517 Back to Wall Street* 2:5518 Fake Cops* 1:4219 The Federal Reserve 2:1820 Bank Elevator** 2:5421 Gold Room Aftermath 1:3622 Panic* 2:04Total Disc Time: 76:37DISC TWO1 Aqueduct 2:122 Santa Claus* 2:363 Yankee Stadium / School and Tunnel* 3:424 Refrigerator Bomb* :405 Surfing in the Aqueduct 2:296 Ticking Refrigerator* :507 Mercedes Chase / School Assembly* 3:148 Aftermath / Waiting and Falling* 2:009 Hooking the Boat* 5:4510 Bunny and Fire Drill* 2:3911 Running in the Halls* 1:4212 Bomb Goes Into Hold* 5:2413 John Makes It Mad* 1:3914 Holly / Celebration* 3:1715 Oh, Canada!* 3:2316 Johnny Comes Marching Home* 1:39Total Time: 43:07Total Score Time: 1:59:44Bonus Tracks:17 Regret* 1:5718 Hooking the Boat (alternate)* 4:2319 On the Freighter / John Makes It Mad* 3:3020 Wall Street Station* 1:2921 The Subway (Part 1) (alt. segment)* 1:3122 The Subway (Part 2) (alt. segment)* :4723 Ode to Johnny* 3:1224 No Rush* 1:2025 Escape* 2:0526 The Foundry 3:0827 Waltz of the Bankers (album track) 4:1528 Gold Vault (album track) 3:5029 Somebody Had Fun (wild snare)* 1:1630 Johnny Comes Marching Home (wild vamps)* 1:29Total Bonus: 34:06Total Disc Time: 77:23Total Two-Disc Time: 2:34:00* Previously unreleased** Contains previously unreleased musichttp://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151353875608755&set=a.181243738754.155532.56031953754&type=1https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151354301678755&set=a.181243738754.155532.56031953754&type=1Available to order at 1PM PST on Tuesday, December 4th, 2012 at http://www.lalalandrecords.com/'>http://www.lalalandrecords.com/ and other fine retailers. HOLLAND’S OPUS, THE IRON GIANT) full-throttle orchestral score to the 1995 Twentieth Century Fox blockbuster DIE HARD WITH A VENGEANCE, starring Bruce Willis, Samuel L. Jackson and Jeremy Irons, directed by John McTiernan. Long overdue, Michael Kamen’s final, sensational DIE HARD score comes roaring back to life in an explosive deluxe version that runs over 2 full hours, greatly expanding its original 1995 soundtrack release with a new presentation worthy of the composer’s masterful work. Kamen’s score is presented here as initially composed for the film, giving listeners a chance to hear material that was ultimately not used in the final version of the movie. Produced by Nick Redman and Mike Matessino, produced for Sony Music by Didier C. Deutsch, and mastered by Mike Matessino, this special release is limited to 4000 units and features plentiful bonus tracks as well as exclusive, in depth liner notes by film music writer Jeff Bond. Also included is the classic rocker that kicks off the film, “Summer in the City” by The Lovin’ Spoonful. Trent B 325
Die Hard 3 is easily the best of the Die Hard scoresAgreed! My copy from MM won't be here until tomorrow. All though I may not be home by the time the mail gets here since my friend Joe is coming up from Vegas to pick me up for my trip Saturday. At least though I'm hearing it by other means...and I agree it's the best of the bunch.KM I hope you've at least given the Die Hard scores, especially 2 and 3 a chance. crocodile 7,711
I think they're all great. But the best listen is definitely Die Hard 2. The third one does offer some new cool music but then again a lot of it, particularly the final action cue, is lifted directly from the second one. But then again that score expands upon the material from the first one.Karol
Ollie 986
So Disc 1 is in Gracenotes but Disc 2 isn't? This is happening more and more with multiple disc releases. The first Die Hard is the best film amd score.

Ollie 986
Kinda underwhelmed after listening to this release. The newer / unreleased material isn't as interesting and the recycling of music from DH & DH 2 is a bit more than the last film.Still greatly appreciate LaLaLand for releasing this. crocodile 7,711
Not sure if this has been asked before...Could anyone clarify what's what on this album? #SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,262
Yes the liners don't really specify much. For instance Wall Street Station is used in the film, or at least part of it. But it's relegated to the bonus cues....
Jay 35,290
"Wall Street Station" is a re-recording of "Police First Fired On" from Die Hard 1 that was tracked into the film in a few spots, most noticeably replacing some of Kamen's original intentions for the "Taxi Chase" cue
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,262
In a score like this, many cues being edited or unused, a track by track analyses might have been useful.
Jay 35,290
Totally agreed. It's kinda nuts that we finally got perfect expansions of all 3 Die Hard scores and none of them have track by track analysises. Maybe someone is working on a book or something? Incanus 5,665
No track-by-track analyses? Wow. Disappointing. I wonder whether skill or time was lacking if they couldn't provide them for these scores. Those can be very enlightening , especially in cases where the original score was tinkered like with Die Hard 3.

#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,262
I am not sure what you consider a track-by-track analyses then, but Die Hard has a description for every track
Incanus 5,665
Well the space is also limited on these releases for liner notes and with so many tracks detailed examination might not even be feasible in all cases.E.g. LLL releases like Masters of the Universe and Independence Day would have really benefited from a detailed examination of the music track-by-track but alas they chose to highlight other aspects in the liner notes so we got interviews interspersed with facts and background info on the film. This is probably because the writers for those didn't feel they were competent to write on the scores in a semi-academic analytic style. But I guess it is always a choice of how to approach the liner notes of any given release and the preferences of the writers.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,262
Gentleman, I am not talking about a Doug Adams like treatment. Just a brief description for every track. Where in the film it plays, and if it was cut or edited etc...Die Hard has that. It also has an extensive amount of pages detailing aspects of the production that have nothing to do with the score.Die Hard 2: Die Harder and Die Hard With A Vengeance do not have a track-by-track analyses.
