For anyone that missed the expensive limited edition of The Fury by Twilight Time, there is the Uk Arrow release, that also has the isolated score track:

Interesting. I didn't know they would re-licence the titles released by TT. Is this the same transfer then? Couldn't quite gather that from my (very brief) glance at the article.

I don't know if it's the same transfer, but in some reviews I think they said it's better!

(which makes me feel stupid that I bought the expensive TT release!)

Anyway, we'll know for sure when it's released and we have screencaps.

By the way, other titles too that were released by TT are released in Europe (in half the price):

eg. Oliver, The Way we Were, the Blue lagoon

Carrie is superior to the Fury in every way from story to soundtrack.

Carrie is one of those rare films that the acting is not only good, it is quite great. Only a handful of actresses ever get recognized for their work in horror films, this one had two.

I feel stupid!

The new The Fury Bluray has excellent picture and audio quality (much better than the limited expensive TT one i bought), special features and the isolated score!

D'oh.

Although I have to say the TT already looked much better than I'd ever expected this particular movie on Blu.

well, the difference now is radical.

See 2 screenshots from the 2 releases (not the exact same screenshot)

yeah but it's still a bad movie regardless of picture quality, Kirk douglas gives the worst performance of his career, Amy Irving is just bizarre, and Andrew Stevens gives a performance that proves he was destined to work behind the camera instead of in front of it.

well, you can sell the TT. It's still a limited out of print edition.

many may not know about the arrow release, so..

I will look for the dirt cheap DVD release of the film first and if I am impressed I might consider the Blu-ray.

I own the DVD copy of The Fury, forget it; that's one of the badest quality DVD of my collection.

Some scenes are great, and others are very grainy (like if they did a big zoom on the image), it's the kind of thing I hope they corrected on the BD release.

But at the final, it's not a movie I liked a lot, not enough to buy it again.

For me, it's a movie that very badly aged.

It's a limited release replaced by a superior product. It's worth about 50 cents now

No it's not.

There are many people that are crazy about a limited product, even if it is inferior that another one, and will buy it just because it's limited and rare.

Anyway, at ebay the prices for a used bluray, start with a bid of 14 euros.

Suuure! That's why the Varese Club release of Predator still goes for top dollars, or their Home Alone 2, or the OST for Star Trek First Contact...

Value is dropping fast Jason, Marion. It's 4.50 now.

Better decide quick...

The isolated score track features the recording sessions!!

I mean before every cue starts, you have some seconds with someone announcing the reel number etc. and you can hear John Williams in the background, either counting the meter, giving instructions, or at a couple of instances i checked, he kind of sang the beginnig of the cue!

That quote references the TT Blu Ray.

Does the Arrow UK Blu Ray retain the isolated music track where you hear the slate announcements, and JW's comments before each music cue?

Yes.

This isolated score track is such a great addition to this release! The singing direction from JW you elude to is for the head explosion finale. The horns still miss a few notes, but it’s a difficult cue.

The Fury is underrated. Carrie is good but overrated.

You are incorrect.

The Fury was DePalma in his MNS phase(TheHappening).

Carrie is a masterpiece of horror with some truly superior performances.

Donaggio's score works far better in Carrie than John's score works in the fury.
