Especially welcome are the RANSOM/CASSANDRA CROSSING suites at the end. As for the SALAMANDER, apart from being an early 80's Goldsmith score, there is a wonderful choral cue of FINAL CONFLICT proportions called FUNERAL : REQUIEM FOR A GENERAL.

I am highly impressed that James Fitzpatrick did go such lengths to get this recorded.

I should learn not to edit posts on mobile, especially when move post happy mods start moving posts.

I am intrigued that this is an aural reconstruction, but I won't go near the poo slinging that will ensue at FSM.

I'm surprised they already released this right after they posted the clip on YouTube - which sounded fantastic by the way. Already placed my order. Having the bits from Cassandra Crossing in pristine sound should also be great.

I think this is great they are doing this. I never thought I'd see a release of The Salamander.

However listening to the sample of Ransom makes me wish that Tadlow gives that one a full recording as well. I know Prometheus did the best they could with the LP and what meterial they had.

They've teased the Conan sequel before doing the full score, so who knows.

Aside from unreleased material, I still wish for a new recording of Rambo III, and perhaps Lionheart. And a new recording of The Blue Max would be great. The Tadlow clip reminded me very much of Goldsmith LSO concerts from the early 2000s, and his Blue Max suite in 2001 was utterly fantastic.

It's a good score, with some wonderful cues, and it's a fantastic recording. The final cue, as shown in the promotional video, reminded me very much of Goldsmith's own LSO concerts in the early 2000s.

Sorry to bump this old thread, but I'm just listening to this score, as part of my Goldsmith marathon.

I was just wondering, how can that be, that a man can reconstruct "by ear" the entire score? And from a DVD no less, with the dialogue on top!

It just sounds impossible to me.

Are there other releases like this?
