Film Composers on stamps: VANGELIS

I just read in a Greek article, that Vangelis will be on a stamp in a new stamps series in September here in Greece.

This series will feature living Greek personalities and this is a first!

Up until now, no living person would be allowed to be on a stamp, except for Presidents or Olympic Winners!

(also of film interest, among these new stamps, Jim Giannopoulos -the president of FOX- will be featured too)

So, do you know of any other film composers that are on stamps?? :)

Over a decade ago, several composers were featured on a collection from the US Post. Korngold, Waxman, Steiner and Mancini were among those... all dead though!

Actually, I think the Mancini one come later on...

US laws state that a person, other than a president, has to be dead at least ten years before being able to be put on a stamp. And even then it has to get approval.

Does anyone know who the first living person to feature on a U.K. stamp was?

Sir Francis Chichester was arguably the first living non-Royal to be depicted, albeit in stick man form aboard Gipsy Moth IV on a 1'9 stamp in 1967. Philately will get you nowhere!
