Apologies if this has been already posted. Nice video of the whole 1987 July 4 Boston Pops concert, w/ Williams at the helm, up on YouTube. Feat. Johnny Cash!

One of the first performances of  "We're Looking Good," at 1:15:40.

Wow, between this and "And Baby Makes Three," what a stretch it's been for previously unheard Williams.  Actually, I always thought "We're Lookin' Good" was some kind of cheesy song Williams had written.  How excellent to discover it's actually a playful cousin to 1941!

Well this turned out more convincingly than I thought it would:

Disconcerting and funny at the same time.  But don't give the Studios any ideas for when they reboot the film.

Not sure if it's the right thread for this, but I randomly heard a few guys playing some themes from Star Wars at the Ravenheart International Film Festival at the Cinemateket in Oslo. I had just finished watching a film, and managed to film the ending of their performance.

The band's name is El Dorado, and from my understanding they specialise in film music. Here is their Facebook page and Instagram page.

Not a YouTube clip, but my occasional "John Williams year:2021" Spotify search yielded this today.  They also do "The Shire" and the Sleeping Beauty Waltz.

Here's a fun one!

"Professional Musicians Discuss John Williams"

Funny watching them find stuff we've been dissecting for eons ;) Would love to have seen them get off the beaten path though

Now I'd like "Music Theorists React to Professional Musicians Reacting to John Williams."  Paging @Falstaft

If you had "CEO of Patreon comparing John Williams to Skrillex" on your bingo card today, congratulations.

Music theory Youtube has taken off in such a crazy way over the last few years, I find many of them entertaining although I'm never quite sure of the veracity of the content of many of them.

A little bit like a musical hidden object game.

I heard a lot of Midway, a little Star Wars, a bit of Superman and for whatever reason a dip into Alex Courages Star Trek fanfare. :)

Beautiful birthday present.

@BuzzLightyear, I wish you all the best with your music career.

Is this shared here before?

Brassband De Bazuin Oenkerk (where a long time ago I played as percussionist) that perform multiple arrangements of John Williams' music:

Why is the image flipped? (All the book text is reversed)

I never noticed that. That book shelf is always on the left side of the screen in her videos. I'm guessing she just prefers that framing and flips the image.

Yeah, its okay.  I would say it plays as someone who takes SW as the baseline and anything JW does different is new and original for him, which just speaks to a lack of willingness to do pre SW research.  The "lack of versatility" claim is laughable.  Compared to who?

I really like this version of Hymn to the Fallen by VOCES8. Such a pure and beautiful sound to their voices:

Arrangement of With Malice Toward None by Christian Anton:

Gorgeous arrangement of The Missouri Breaks love theme by Brett Mitchell.

Check out all his other Williams arrangements as they are all fantastic and he plays beautifully.

Over a decade ago I made some music videos of my favourite movies that I uploaded to YouTube. They are clearly amateurish but there's a couple I'm still secretly fond of. Here's a selection of the John Williams ones:
