TheUlyssesian 2,103
Almost all the music composed in Bollywood is for songs but sometimes they do have some nice lyric-less music composed.Below I have embedded two of the best themes to come out of Bollywood, both helpfully presented in concert suit formats to showcase their themes. Have a listen and share what do you think. From the movie Bombay by A.R. Rahman From the movie Kal Ho Na Ho (Tomorrow May Never Come) by Shankar, Ehsaan, Loy What are some of the good ones that you have heard?I am trying to look up some other nice suggestions. Sharkissimo 1,971
I am not familiar with his music at all.Neither am I. It's just that his name is something of an in-joke on this board. It started with this thread.http://www.jwfan.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=6161

BloodBoal 7,532
Yes! Sounds like something Prokofiev could have written!
KK 3,202
On a more serious note, I don't know much about Bollywood themes, but I am a fan of A.R. Rahman who has written some stuff. Some ones I personally know of and enjoy: And then there's a lot of stuff he's done outside of Bollywood that's definitely worth taking a look: Yes! Sounds like something Prokofiev could have written!I was thinking more along the lines of Rachmaninov
Thor 5,273
I actually teach Indian cinema (even beyond Bollywood) every year at the university. It's a topic that has interested me for abuot 15 years. Many good suggestions in this thread -- especially from the contemporary master Rahman. His BOMBAY theme (linked to above) is one of the few instrumental Bollywood tracks that have made the charts.
Koray Savas 2,095
Used brilliantly in the opening sequence of Inside Man, although Spike Lee couldn't pass up the opportunity to throw in some original rap into it and call it a Bollywood Joint. Anyway, here's the original:
