Favourite Studio/Record Company Logo Themes

To get the ball rolling, mine are the eerie 3/4 lullaby for MPL Communications (Paul McCartney's music publisher) which I first heard as a wee lad with Rupert and the Frog Song (1984), and our own Johnny's Lad Company Logo fanfare, heard with Outland and Blade Runner. Both are unusually subdued for an area where chest-beating Sturm and Drang is the norm.

What are yours?

I always liked Jerry's Universal fanfare. Fox's too of course - few things embody the feeling of "you're at the movies and about to have a wonderful time" as well as those few seconds.

I like the new Studio Canal logo. I think Desplat did the music. Fit well in front of TINKER TAILOR SOLDIER SPY, too, as it sounds similar to some of the music in that film:

Then this, from New Line, which just sounds nice to me:

In addition to Kamen's New Line music, Goldsmith's Universal fanfare, and the Newman Fox music... I really like Giacchino's music for the new Paramount logo.

Horner's Universal logo was always my favourite.

Long ago, CIC distribution company had logo music which was rumoured to be lifted from JG's "A Gathering Of Eagles". The Cinergi logo ("DHWAV") and the C2 logo are also good.

I also like old U.A. music which can be found ahead of "TSWLM".

Who did the music for the logo on the front of "GoldenEye"?

Does any-one know who did the Cannon logo music?

Alex is right - The Ladd Company logo reigns supreme.

The United Artists logo?

That's the one!

Surprised no-one's mentioned Steiner's Warner Bros. logo. As heard on "Gremlins" the segue is brilliant from that to the creepy, almost ethereal, "Chinatown" music.

I know this isn't a stuidio but a system logo and didn't really know where to post this, but THX posted in their facebook the original score for their logo:

You're right, the Deep Note is fabulous!

Back in the day, when I saw the movie for the first time, I thought that The Ladd Company logo was actually the first scene of the movie.

when i saw it for the first time, I was wondering why it sounded like it's coming from the bathroom, and if my TV has an audio problem. :P

1. Universal (but I loathe the modernized version)

2. 20th Century Fox (especially the aborted version)

3. Studiocanal (although it sounds like Nicholas Hoopers Order of the Phoenix score)

This is getting out of hand. Now there are two of them. We should not have replaced this logo.

I thought you liked Goldsmith's fanfare too...

And the newer opening for WB/New Line keeps both themes...

I love when movies play around with the Fox Fanfare:

But the best is obviously that Alien3 one. It's terrifying. And I don't mean it in a "that's so scary, cool, what fun!" way, I mean when I first heard it a few months ago, it literally made me question whether I want to watch this or not.

Bumping an old thread for some Goldsmith favourites...

CAROLCO PICTURES

C2 PICTURES (which lasted all of two minutes)

Did Goldsmith do any more (other than the once ubiquitous 1997 Universal logo)?

Lightstorm (Fiedel) - attached to True Lies

United Artists (Harnell I think?) - various but most memorably Bond

Warner Bros. (Steiner) - the recording used for Gremlins and Innerspace
