I still don't understand what does a studio approve on a soundtrack release.

Do they have specialists that know their way around a film score?

I mean, does anyone say:

"Oh, we don't approve that insert right there."

Or "please remove that alternate, because it doesn't have much difference with the film version, just 2 bars."

They approval the final artwork.

Oh, i can understand this too.

No, its quite common.

We simply usually don't hear about it. But a label makes one comment about an upcoming release being by John Williams, and we get 14 pages of discussion about it here.

Studio approval doesn't usually take years.... could be a week, could be a few months sometimes.

The title is coming Tuesday, June 30th

Rather fitting that we just got the final sign off on our John Williams project today.

(And no its not Star Wars related)

:)

May the fourth be with you!!!

June 30 can't get here soon enough.

So it will be revealed on their June flyer going up around June 1st at the latest!

Does he not post here anymore? Guess I never noticed.

Oh snap!

Anyways.... Do you seriously not know what "May the Fourth be with you" refers to?

I wonder if they'll release it on the fourth of July....

Has to be Born On The Fourth Of July, right?

Joe will be happy!

It'd be nice to hear that one in good sound quality. Not the best stand-alone experience though...

Why Joe?

Brausam.

Oh I thought you meant Joey

A.I. could have been an amazing release (if Williams wasn't allowed to supervise and approve AKA ruin it) and it's something I would have actually wanted, unlike BOTFOJ.

Wait... Do both Koray AND Justin not know what May the Fourth Be With You is referring to? :eh:

They announced a new LLL JW release on May 4th, unofficial "Star Wars Day". They made a point to reference the Fourth, which is a clue that it will be Born on the Fourth of July.

Am I wrong?

MV doesn't really do clues games like that. All titles are just revealed now on the monthly flyers...

You're such a killjoy. You know what it's not. Why don't you just say what it is? No? Then don't deny people their fun guessing games. Personally I don't care what it is, my John Williams collection is complete.

I don't know if I've listened to BOTFOJ more than once. Is it good? How does the OST compare to the boot?

We need the E.T. Adventure

Yea, I hope if a label ever gets to do ET, they include that at the end.

Oooh, I like The Accidental Tourist.

Wow, I dunno why I remembered the boot being a Vol 2 like TLC and Far and Away. Momentary brain lapse!

It has bad sound quality, right?

Is it complete?

As far as I've been able to tell without having sheet music, yes. There's nothing in the film that isn't heard on the boot.

The boot wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for he sound quality,

If I had to choose a score which has had no previous release at all, I'd have to go with 'The Screaming Woman'.

From what I remember, some of the earlier cues in the film sound pretty violent and bloody amazing.

lol
