As it's Hallowe'en and all, I have Hobgoblin beers from the Wychwood brewery and an Adnam's 'Ghost Ship' ale in the fridge for tonight (as well as a Badger's 'Blandford Fly' ale ... umm, I guess the last word has horror-movie resonances?)

Hmm. I've been drinking Hobgoblin since 1990. It's my favourite beer.

I tried some Iron Maiden Trooper beer (I only bought it for the picture of Eddie, on the bottle). Not bad. I've also had some toffee apple cider. It does exactly what it says, on the bottle :)

Nothing old fashioned about it, it's a fine drink.

Slàinte Mhath, Bes!

Princes in exile, raising the standard Drambuie. Parading their anecdotes, tired from old campaigns. Holding their own last orders, commanding attention. We sit here and listen to all of the story, so far.

This is the story, so far!

Drinking like a madman -- several specialty beers down and I have a small bottle of red wine waiting. I'm gearing up for an FSM Zoom meeting.

By the way, I hope to host a JWFAN Zoom meeting soon, exclusively for us (so you don't have to worry about the strange people at Maintitles or FSM). I'm thinking January, maybe.

SHOOTER!!!

But seriously, you have nothing best to drink in California than Maker's Mark?

I prefer Johnnie Walker Red over that very basic bourbon.

But I'm currently in a Gin phase. Dry (very dry) Martini, usually with 5 or 6 Queen olives. Hmmmm...

It's a good bourbon and was featured in all three Spider-Man movies, so I have an affinity for it. Norman Osborn drank it, then Harry and then the bottle explodes in the fireplace when they fight in the third one.

I predominantly drink Evan Williams.

As a scotch drinker, I was not impressed by Maker's Mark. I tolerate Jim Beam in cocktails (for old fashioned and Jim Beam Bloody Ceasars), but to drink neat, I go for Johnnie walker (red label for the week, black for special events).

Ballantine Is very good for Whisky sours in the summer.

I do like Glenfiddich or a Chivas when I'm in restaurants or bar... but my favourite scotch is the Oban 14 yo. Oban Kenobi. But this one is a bit expensive.

Talisker, Glen Livet, Isle of Jura tooo hmmmm....

No, I drink everything, but Jack Daniels, that's perhaps the most ugliest thing I've ever put in my mouth.

Bulleit, it's available in Quebec, I will try it. "Full-Bodied and Complex". Ah...

Which variety do you recommend me?

Maker's Mark is "medium-bodied and woody".

In this taste tag, I prefer Jim Beam.

But MINE is the Oban 14:

Perrier is good. But the carbonation is harsher, so it doesn't go down as well.

Just now, Bespin said:

Why chase it?

It disperses the alcohol in.your system.  so you don't get drunk too fast.

And, you don't get a hangover.

I drink until the Pellegrino is gone. Then quit. But, you may have higher tolerance.

If you just want.to get drunk, drink rotgut whiskey
