What are you drinking tonight?

Every time I see this thread, I read the name as "Are you lonesome tonight?"

No armchair analysis, please. I'm just an Elvis fan.

Dont you swig a bottle of grain alcoholic a night while looking at your doll collection?

Usually with Fox News on the telly. I need a fireplace so I can angrily toss unfinished glasses into it.

Bond orders it all wrong. Shaken, not stirred, will get you cold water with a dash of vodka and dry vermouth. The reason you stir it with a special spoon is so not to chip the ice. James is ordering a weak martini and being snooty about it.

And Russians make the best vodka.

I was specifically referencing Bond drinking Smirnoff in his hotel room alone in Tomorrow Never Dies, when Paris Carver suddenly barges in. It's a vibe, as the kids are saying these days.

Bond skulling shots of booze in what looked like a 'coping mechanism' kinda way as opposed to a social pleasure was a new thing then (the only explicit previous reference having been in Alec's 'whether the Vodka Martinis silence the screams of all the men you've killed' in Goldeneye).

Its deliberately weak. So it doesn't get him too drunk playing cards in Casino Royale.

True. Plus it's for performance reasons. He wants his...golden gun...to be up and ready when called to duty.

Though I admit, I'd love to have heard what Barry did with the score. Though I guess we sort of know, given that Moonraker is essentially a remake of TSWLM in space.

£29.99 @ Tesco. Which I guess is about $60 CAD. ;)

£29.99 is $52 CAD. But here in Québec, we are more heavily taxed and farther from France, hehe.

F*** snob! :P

Not true. There are some great British and American beers. I don’t like IPA’s, but if you do, America is the place to be.

What is true is that Ireland has the best beers in the English speaking world. Irish red ales are my absolute favourite.

As for the rest of the world? Easy…Germany.

Not Belgium?

There are some great Belgium beers, I really like Dubbels. But like many IPA's, a lot of Belgium beers tend to be a little sweet, fruity and bitter for my taste.  I like my ales malty & toasty.
