Film Score Wishlists

Mr. Brown

Recommended Posts

What film scores do you hope are released some day, under any record label?

My #1 is Herrmann's OBSESSION. I'd love a cleaned-up and full presentation of the score. Personally, I think it's better than VERTIGO, although very similar in some areas.

I'd like a complete "Flash Gordon", and complete "Highlander" (Roger's "A Dozen Red Roses For My Darling" segueing tino Freddie's "New York, New York" is fantastic!).

If I could nominate one score that has not has any kind of relaase, it would be either "Missing", or "The Bounty". Oh, yes a complete "Blade Runner" would be great, too.

my top 10 list of stuff I'd preorder immediately:

entirely unreleased to this day
George S. Clinton - Hellbound, James Newton Howard - My Girl, Lee Holdridge - Skyway To Death, Rupert Gregson-Williams - Here Comes The Boom

released but an expanded release would be appreciated

Alan Menken - Beauty And The Beast, Elmer Bernstein - Wild Wild West, Harry Gregson-Williams/John Powell - Chicken Run, James Horner - Titanic, Marc Shaiman - Patch Adams, Marco Beltrami - The Faculty

Obsession would be great....Really can't understand why it hasn't been re-recorded like so many other Benny scores....suspect legal chicanery. I'd like Satan Bug to get a good going over too. I find it a really unique score for Jerry ...the FSM is pretty good but many cues are missing and there's FX over a lot of them

Die Hard- Kamen

Back To The Future- Silvestri

Predator- Silvestri

Hook- Williams

Temple Of Doom- Williams

Alien- Goldsmith

Hmmm your wishes on those have been largely granted. ToD and Hook would really need the DEFINITIVE COMPLETELY COMPLETE releases still.

Howard Shore's unused King Kong. It's the tenth anniversary next year...

I would very much like to hear this one too.

But my wish list would include by some magic or piece of good luck complete release of John Williams' Jane Eyre and Dracula. If not original recordings then re-recordings.

Empire of the Sun complete

Jurassic Park complete

The Lost World complete

John Williams' Harry Potter scores

Rocketeer complete

Willow complete

Atlantis complete

The Village complete

The Mummy complete

13th Warrior complete

L.A. Confidential complete

Sleepy Hollow complete

I have no desire for any expansion of any kind.

However, I still dream of premiere releases of totally unreleased scores by Williams, Elfman and Goldenthal.

What about Conan? Either an expansion or s re-recording would be nice.

I wouldn't mind a very comprehensive collection of Looney Tunes music.

FSM's Tom & Jerry release is great, if you haven't heard it.

Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban (Williams)

Intrada released a full Conan last year.

Many of the others were also released, though some are out of print now.

Humor. It is a difficult concept.

I don't know what you're referring to there. In regards to CONAN THE DESTROYER, that's what I keep reading on the FSM forums. Hopefully it's true.

RE: Steef's list and Karol's response. Back when those titles were still holy grails, everyone would post them as their guesses for upcoming releases. Intrada always used to post clues as to what was coming up next. Glad that phase died out.

Many of mine have been taken care of in the last 6 months remarkably. Most other stuff has been footwarmed.

If Sleepy Hollow/HP3 leaked, I would be a happy man.

And where the hell are those 3 remaining minutes of Jurassic?

We know Hook has issues, but worthy of another reissue? Not sure about that. It's not that bad.

Spider-Man 3 (I know most likely will never happen)

The rights problems will be compromised eventually.

I'll check it out, but I really want some of that original Carl Stalling goodness. Surprisingly rich music.

Yes, especially when it's not funny!

Acquired taste, my friend.

You're going to acquire my fist in your face!

I'm being bullied!

Volcano

Oh YES! One of my favorite Silvestri scores!

As to Sleepy Hollow, I'm sure that awful BurtonElfman box set ruled out a possibility for this completely. What a shame. They didn't even manage to present the few unreleased tracks in lossless quality on the set. Whoever was responsible for this, I hope he got another job now.

Leonard Rosenman's Sybil, a definitive release of Mancini's Arabesque, and a remastered To Kill a Mockingbird top my list.

Did you get Intrada's Bernstein: The Ava Collection? And if so, what's your take on that recording of TKAM?
