Disco Stu 15,495
For me, it's Bilbo's Theme that's right up there with House of Durin. I think the Smaug material is probably the most effective in the whole trilogy just in terms of embodying the subject so completely.

Jay 37,346
I'm honestly surprising by how many are chiming in to say Bridge of Spies is great and/or their favorite Newman score. It seemed to me like when it came out, people didn't actually talk about it too much here. Another highlight is of course the music at the climax of the film at around 9:40-end in "Glienicke Bridge." This is a quintessential Thomas Newman score for me. It's exemplary of his general sound and the melodies/orchestration are wonderful:

Uni 306
My mind is caught in the eddy of the first four notes of the themes from Last of the Mohicans and Cliffhanger. Popular Post KK 3,307
It's kind of scary how vividly that score is able to draw up moments for me. It's more than just recalling the scene, it stirs something larger I think, like something that was always a part of me, but one that I never get tired of reminiscing about. I know that sounds like a bunch of hooplah, but very few scores have done that for me, and I credit that to the effectiveness of Shore's music and the imagery it was tied to. Anywho, this has been stuck in my head all day: Muad'Dib, Incanus, Naïve Old Fart and 1 other
