What scores do you plan on buying in the near future?

For me...

CONAN THE BARBARIAN (Intrada)

FLESH & BLOOD (LaLaLand)

THE GOLDEN CHILD (LaLaLand)

NORTH BY NORTHWEST (Intrada) -- Believe it or not, this is one of my least favorite Herrmann scores...

DAY OF THE DEAD (LaLaLand)

Jupiter Ascending - Michael Giacchino....oh, wait....

The Stepford Wives (David Arnold)

Altered States (John Corigliano)

Empire of the Sun (John Williams)

Nothing much else. Film music is not really floating my boat at the moment.

Flesh & Blood is very highly recommended. Quintessential Poledouris.

I think the only thing on my list is Night Crossing. I might be all caught up, aside from a few Tadlow titles I'm not in a hurry to get.

The reprinted Batman TAS Vol 1 omits the Shirley Walker demo track, but I wouldn't pay out the nose for an original just for that. Not if you have friends.

What have you been listening to lately outside of film music?

Revisiting Vaughan-Williams, Bruckner, Glass, Adams, Brahms, Walton, Nyman and others.

Not bad. I should do the same for Bruckner, Brahms, and Walton. I tend to really neglect composers with covert or overt Teutonic roots, with the exception of Bach and sometimes Mahler.

I've mostly got what I need in terms of film music releases. Sometimes I'll pick something up if I can find it cheap on Amazon or something like that - quite randomlly. I generally buy things as they come out. I'll be getting How To Train Your Dragon 2 CD when it comes out in about two weeks, that's for sure. As well as Empire of the Sun later this month (maybe The Addams Family as well, we'll see). To be frank, it might be a good idea to even cut back a little. Too many CD's. not enough time to digest and enjoy them all.

I feel like I've got way too much. And then I get music ADD when I'm with my iPod. I start to listen to a new album but find I'd rather listen to something I've heard a gazillion times. And then I can't justify having made the purchase.
