That's not a very hard thing to be.

And Florence Pugh's russian accent is hilariously bad.

I'm from (what people call) Eastern Europe and it sounds good enough to me. Although there's too little of it to judge.

Yeah, that's not new in comics or the movies.  She talks about it in Winter Soldier or Avengers 2 if I recall correctly.

Hopefully it's better than Lucy and Ghost in the Shell

Aw!  I recall Lucy being entertaining enough, for a dumb concept.

BLACK WIDOW: Kevin Feige Says The Movie Will Make Us See INFINITY WAR And ENDGAME In A New Light

While Black Widow will shed some light on what Natasha Romanoff was up to during the events of Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War (not to mention her origin story), some fans have questioned if there's really any point to the movie. Well, according to Kevin Feige, we can expect it to show both the latter film and Avengers: Endgame in a "new light."

"It was about four years ago as we were working on Infinity War and Endgame at the same time, we knew that we wanted to bring her story to a conclusion in the most heroic way possible in Endgame, but also that we wanted to explore a part of her life that we hadn't seen before," he explained.

"It occurred to us that we had seen her adventures in the Avengers movies, but a lot of stuff happened in between those movies that we never saw, we didn't hear about, we didn't learn about. And [with] that, we wanted to do a movie with Scarlett Johansson because she is Natasha Romanoff and not do a story with a younger Black Widow for the whole film."

Reading between the lines, it sounds like we'll follow a younger Black Widow for at least some of the film, which makes sense based on what the trailers have shown. However, it also sounds like the movie will have an impact on the MCU as a whole (we recently noted that Natasha appeared to be wearing Yelena Belova's vest in Avengers: Infinity War).

"[We] had this thought of exploring a little bit of her past that we hadn't seen before and how that impacts the adventure she had between Civil War and Infinity War," Feige added. "And in fact, there are things that she does in Infinity War and Endgame that you'll see in a new light once you see the Black Widow."

Black Widow could end up being a far more important movie than it's previously been given credit for based on these remarks, and it will obviously be interesting to see how things play out for Natasha.

Marvel’s WANDAVISION Is Coming Out Earlier Than We Thought

Disney+ has yet to become a powerhouse in Marvel content, but that is set to change soon. Sooner than we thought in fact. In a showreel the official Disney+ Twitter account tweeted yesterday, the company confirmed that Wandavision -a series previously thought to be coming out in 2021 - will actually be released in 2020. If you haven't been keeping up with your calendar, that's this year.

Now there are two original Marvel Studios series set to debut on Disney+ in 2020, with Wandavision joining The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. It's still unclear what the exact release dates are for either series; thus far, Falcon & WS has been expected to come out in late 2020, although that might have changed if the Marvel production pipeline is going through some kind of fast-tracking. Or maybe Wandavision might swoop in and come out first? Both series began filming in November.

As I've written before, Disney+ launched with a pretty barren Marvel collection compared to how the streaming service has been marketed, so it's a win for everyone involved if they can get out more Marvel shows sooner (assuming they're confident in the work.) Among the Disney+ Marvel shows that have made it to production, Wandavision is possibly the one I'm most interested in, too, so it'll be nice to see what this show is about before Trump gets re-elected and we can't really enjoy things anymore.

Exclusive: Christian Bale in Talks to Join ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’

Oscar winner Christian Bale is in talks to join Chris Hemsworth in Marvel’s Thor: Love and Thunder, Collider has exclusively learned.

Taika Waititi is returning to direct the sequel, which is gearing up to start production this summer. The follow-up to 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok is shaping up to be Bale’s first comic book movie since his final turn as Batman in 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises.

Marvel had no comment.

Tessa Thompson will reprise her Ragnarok role as Valkyrie, while Natalie Portman will return to the franchise as Jane Foster, who apparently becomes Thor in this movie. Waititi will also be back to provide the voice of Korg, who became an instant fan favorite. Marvel’s Kevin Feige will produce the comic book movie after the last Thor installment grossed $853 million worldwide. Bale’s role is being kept under wraps.

Bale currently stars in Fox/Disney’s racing drama Ford v Ferrari, which has grossed more than $200 million worldwide. He won an Oscar on his very nomination for The Fighter, and was also nominated for American Hustle, The Big Short, and Vice. He’s currently up for a SAG Award for his turn as Ken Miles in Ford v Ferrari.

Disney will release Thor: Love and Thunder on Nov. 5, 2021.

Marvel’s ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ Loses Director Scott Derrickson

Marvel Studios on Thursday attributed Scott Derrickson's departure to "creative differences."

Scott Derrickson has exited his post as director of Marvel Studios’ upcoming “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” as first reported by Variety. In a statement shared with media outlets, the studio said, “Marvel Studios and Scott Derrickson have amicably parted ways on ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ due to creative differences. We remain grateful to Scott for his contributions to the MCU.” Marvel Studios told TheWrap, “Derrickson will stay on as an executive producer.” IndieWire has reached out to Marvel’s parent company, Walt Disney Studios, for comment.

Derrickson cosigned the news on Thursday via Twitter, stating, “Marvel and I have mutually agreed to part ways on Doctor Strange: In the Multiverse of Madness due to creative differences. I am thankful for our collaboration and will remain on as EP.” See the tweet below.

Derrickson directed the 2016 original film “Doctor Strange,” based on the celebrated Marvel Comics series and starring Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role as a master sorcerer. That film grossed almost $680 million worldwide.

That's sad, I like Scott, and I was hoping he would redeem himself with the sequel after  the pretty bland first Dr Strange movie.

The MCU doesn't really thrive on directors who want to bring their own vision, it thrives on those that follow Fiege's vision.

Why does the guy to the far right have aluminum foil wrapped around his arm?

That's what people on far right tend to do.

But let's be fair. It's just as bad on far left... ;)

Oh, you don't know him? It's Marvel's most famous super-hero these days, even more than Spidey and Iron Man: the mighty Cyborg Arm Man!

Officially he lost his arm on the comics during a battle with Ultron, but on the internet people make fun of the poor guy, since his arm fell out because he was addicted to masturbation.

'Captain Marvel 2' in the Works With 'WandaVision' Writer

Marvel is moving the action from the 1990s to the present day with scribe Megan McDonnell.

A sequel to Marvel's billion-dollar-grossing Captain Marvel is officially in the works.

The company has tapped rising scribe Megan McDonnell, a staff writer on the Marvel-based series WandaVision, to pen a script for a follow-up to the 2019 pic that starred Brie Larson and Samuel L. Jackson. McDonnell is in final negotiations to seal her deal.

Sources say that Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, who co-wrote and directed the initial film hit, will not return to helm the sequel but are in talks to remain in the Marvel Universe and direct a possible Disney+ series. Marvel is hoping to find a female filmmaker for Captain Marvel 2 and is eyeing a potential 2022 release.

Details of any high-flying take were not revealed, but the new story will move the setting from the 1990s of the original movie to the present day.

Marvel had no comment.

Captain Marvel had several writers on it, including Nicole Perlman, Meg LeFauve and Geneva Robertson-Dworet as well as Boden and Fleck.

Larson played Carol Danvers, a human who becomes involved in the war between two alien races, the Kree and shape-shifting Skrulls. Surviving an explosion tied to an alien engine imbued her with incredible power, making her one of the most powerful heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, something she proved during her subsequent appearance in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame.

Marvel has been mostly mum on Captain Marvel 2. The Disney division’s head Kevin Feige did tease it at San Diego Comic-Con in July during the company’s Hall H panel, when at the very end of the session he blurted out, "We didn't even mention that we're making Black Panther 2 and we didn't mention that Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is coming. We didn't even have time to talk about Captain Marvel 2, by the way. I didn't even have time to talk about The Fantastic Four. And there's no time left to talk about mutants."

Captain Marvel was Marvel’s first female-centric movie and proved to be an overperformer at the box office, generating over $1.1 billion worldwide.

McDonnell is a relatively new writer, with WandaVision her first major credit. The upcoming show is a spinoff that will air on Disney+ and brings back Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany as Avengers heroes Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlet Witch, and the Vision, respectively. The project, currently in production, also brings back the Captain Marvel kid character of Monica Rambeau, now an adult. In comics lore, Rambeau was an iteration of Captain Marvel. McDonnell began the show as a staff writer and then was promoted to story editor.

She is repped by Verve, Good Fear and Gang Tyre.

Disney+ Announces ‘Falcon and Winter Solider,’ ‘WandaVision’ Release Dates, Return of ‘Mandalorian’

The Marvel Cinematic Universe's television offerings are only continuing to expand — and yes, Baby Yoda will return in October 2020.

The next phase of Marvel television is almost here, with the biggest film franchise on the planet gearing up some of its most popular characters for their small screen debuts.

In a Disney corporate earnings call on Feb. 4, the company announced general release dates for two of their upcoming shows: “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” will debut in August 2020, “WandaVision” will debut in December 2020, and the much-anticipated return of “The Mandalorian” for Season 2 will take place in October 2020.

Disney’s new streaming service will eventually feature shows starring the likes of Loki and Hawkeye, and although some of the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe shows are still years away from release, Disney+ confirmed we’ll get two of them before the year’s end. The franchise is no stranger to television shows — shows based on characters ranging from Daredevil and Agent Carter to the Punisher have already come and gone — there are a multitude of other television shows in the franchise that will be popping up in the next few years.

That's just it, I don't get how what was presented in the teaser fits in with any of that. It's almost like a mishmash of sitcoms of various eras.
