Why is Florence Pug suddenly in everything? It's only a matter of time until she's in some Disney SW production I'll never watch, a Marty Scorsese Leo flick I'll never see and whatever else. These actors nowadays suddenly show up in everything everywhere all at once when you'd never heard of them before.

She was in 5 things in 2023 (2 voice works), and 2 in 2024. The first thing she's in this year is Thunderbolts, this is hardly everything.

None of them are Star Trek. So... Star Trek IS better than everything!

She's the current Michael Fassbinder.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. These actors you'd never heard of come out of nowhere and suddenly there's a deluge of content they're in. They must have really great agents.

Even before her Oscar nomination (five years ago) I'd heard of her...

Oh, and Thunderbolts* is her first movie released in seven months...

I was somewhat aware of her in a The Rock-produced film Fighting with My Family where she plays a WWE wrestler. But then, it was Midsommar and then, shortly after, Little Women that really put her in spotlight. So that was 6 years ago. Seems like a very long time to me because a lot has happened in that time, both in my life and globally. So it doesn't feel to me like she's just appeared out of nowhere.

I didn't realize that I should've known her from Midsommar, a movie that I watched twice, no less.

I guess the chubby one didn't make much of an impression on me.

It's Pugh.

Florence Pugh is many things, but a dog is not among them.

Besides, everyone know it's Pugro Pascal that's in everything.

According to the youtuber with her 'awful' voice, the movie, based on the opening weekend, will not do more then $400 million.

Are superhero movies going the way of the Western?

Perhaps Taylor Sheridan should do them?

That would make for a huge improvement.

Why did they change the name of their movie?

Apparently it's the "real name of the movie", that's what the asterisk was for... but it was meant as a surprise in the movie itself but they just gave it away not even a week from release

Spoiler

At the end of the first round of credits it’s Thunderbolts* and then it gets torn away and becomes *The New Avengers.

Funny Thor* /Thor Ragnarok*

Genuinely funny and at times clever film.

Colourfull with fun production design.

Thor is the God of Lightning and Thunder, nevertheless he gets tasered again. This happened in Thor also.

Heimdall finally dumped his ridiculous armour. Idris Alba voices him differently too.

The big revelation of this film is that Thor doesn't need his hammer. In Infinity War he does need a new hammer.

The film actually has something to say about identity and colonialism. Nice.

During the coronation in Thor, they've were hundreds of thousands of Asgardian citizens. In this film, few hundred?

Times been bad on Asgard since 2011.

Tom Hiddleston is hilarious in this. Loki genuinely is the most destructive villain of the MCU at this point

Bob Iger Says 'Thunderbolts*' Is 'First and Best' Example of Marvel's New Movie Strategy: 'We Lost a Little Focus by Making Too Much'

“We’ve learned over time that quantity does not necessarily beget quality,” Iger said on Wednesday’s investor call. “Frankly, we’ve all admitted to ourselves that we lost a little focus by making too much. By consolidating a bit and having Marvel focus much more on their films, we believe it will result in better quality. I think the first and best example of that is ‘Thunderbolts*.’”

It took them this long to learn one of the most basic tenants of art? Or pretty much anything else?

Next lesson: Bigger doesn't always mean better.

They're right though in an IP management way. Phase 4 was an unfocused mess. I honestly didn't know we were already into Phase 5.

Covid and the streaming era probably had something to do with that.

There's still plenty of worthwhile "content" gained though. Started to rewatch Moon Knight. Its really good.

Phase 5 is over, actually, Thunderbolts* was the final entry in it.  The new Fantastic Four move coming out next month begins Phase 6.
