That's the same day Dune 3 is supposed to come out. I guess that's moving.

Ditto on Secret Wars & Hunt for Gollum on December 17, 2027.

Sadly, I doubt we’ll get Avengers: Secret Sméagol. Gollum will move. The Mouse bows to no one.

An Avengers movie coming out in December feels... wrong. These are summer blockbusters, they belong in May.

But I guess Disney saw the box office of No Way Home, which outgrossed every MCU movie except for Endgame in the US and Infinity War/Endgame worldwide. All because it had amazing legs during the holiday season. So they got jealous of Sony and now are dating their Avengers flicks for Christmas.

Marvel has had hits in the summer and the winter. And the spring, for that matter.

Now why there are Star Wars movies released at any time other than May is beyond me.

Saw Thunderbolts*

Solid film that spins through its plot in the first part just to get this team of second raters together. But turns more interesting and likeable along the way.

Good effects, though the cinematography was to dark its hard to see sometimes.

Cast was good, with Pugh and Harbour as the stand outs. Like they were in Black Widow. Julia Louise Dreyfus finally gets something to do.

Not dissimilar to Guardians Of The Galaxy, but without the rather cloying tone that film, and particularly the second one, had its its final third.

The biggest and most dangerous villain in this film is

Spoiler

the black dog. I like how it was handled.

Music was....fine. i guess.

With just over 2 hours the film didn't overstay its welcome (looking at you Captain Marvel, GOTG vol 2, Endgame, The Eternals....)

Not if the story is about a supervillain that wants to destroy Christmas.

I guess it deserves some leeway being an end of an era film. But with the funeral, Thor reuniting with the GOTG, Cap going back to return the stones, Sam getting the shield etc etc.

You think Robert Downey jr is playing The Grinch? Brilliant!

They could bring Hawkeye out of retirement to save Christmas one last time.

Oh god this Ms Marvel show is so friggin irritating. I'm only sticking with it so I'm not lost while watching The Marvels, and I wanna see the Kate Bishop cameo. We're in the doldrums now, huh?

Edit: just found out Kate Bishop is in movie, not show. Ohh, Kate Bishop yew are sooooo funnnyyy

There is just one interesting element in Ms Marvel that's stringing me along, and it's Kamala's mother.

The rest of the MCU doesn't make you think about this much, but ever since Tony Stark revealed himself as Iron Man to the world in 2008, Battle of New York in 2012, and the Blip of 2018-2023, regular people have become exposed to the world of the whimsical and the fantastical, which you'd think would lead to a global awakening and reassessment of how we fit within a bigger universe. But so many people remain in stubborn denial about it all, and militantly resistant to the fantasical notions that Kamala embraces. Her conservative Muslim parents embody this to a frustrating degree, especially to this poor girl who at least recognises the world that's changed, for better or for worse, but they zealously want to shelter her from it. And it probably isn't far off from how people like that would react in the real world. How do people deal with their Marvelised world in the MCU at a spiritual level? I guess we're clued into it in Ms Marvel to an extent, but not satisfactorily.

Hell, we're even told now through official channels that UFOs are a thing, and there are probably deep pillars beneath the Great Pyramid at Giza, suggesting a level of engineering even more exceptional for the time it was built than we ever thought possible, and yet nobody at the street level really cares. And that too is how it is in Marvel-land – the regular folks maintain their state of denial about it all because it's too damn inconvenient and probably too frightening for them to dwell on too much.

But the show only flirts with this very slightly, making it a wasted opportunity. Kamala might have a nice personality, but her journey is boring compared to Kate Bishop, who at least had more to do.

Thor 4

I was expecting the worst but was only mildly irritated during some bits. Padme hasn't looked so damn good since 2002, despite dying from MacGregor's Syndrome.

Onto She-Hulk now.

I never finished Ms. Marvel but there was a lot of She-Hulk that I liked. I haven't even tried to finish an MCU show since Secret Invasion. (I think this is the order of things, yeah?)

I freaking LOVED The Marvels and it is a crime that this is considered the worst even in this unremarkable batch of MCU films. (Ant-Man 3 was SO bad!)

I forced myself to finish Ms Marvel just because I'm challenging myself, whether the show/movie is good or bad.

Finished the first ep of She-Hulk. It was good for a laugh. She's even hotter when she hulks out than she is as a normal human.

That's the premisse of the character!

Bruce and Jennifer externalizes their insecurities in their Hulk personas.

Have you seen Moon Knight? I really enjoyed it.

I'm really dragging my feet through Moon Knight right now. Only three eps to go until I'm finally up to Doctor Strange in the Mouth of Madness.

The nut house bits were a change of pace, but it's a well worn cliche done before in so many other shows. Moon Knight started out okay, but ultimately didn't do it for me.

Djiatchino directed that one. I think he may leave this writing music thing for his offspring and become a full time director.

Avengers Endgame

Why didn't they use the Infinity Stones to ressurect Tony?

This film makes no sense.

"After the snap, the stones served no purpose, beyond temptation" - Thanos

The stones are no use after the snap

That doesn't make any sense. The Avengers wouldn't be able to undo the snap if it did.

That's why they had to go get DIFFERENT stones!

Well, they're no use to THANOS. Because all they can do is undo what he did or do MORE things. Hence, temptation.

The stones have to be OK because they have to be returned by Steve. But WHO could resurrect Tony that wouldn't also be killed? Captain Marvel?

Banner, Wanda, Danvers.

Stark's overall arc in this film is probably the most boring part of the film. I don't give a flying fuck about him having a moment with his Boomer dad.

They could have returned the stones years later if they wanted too. According to the films own rules.

Endgame somehow collapses under the weight of its final hour.

Howard Stark was born in 1917.

Wasn't it stated in the movie that once someone is dead-dead, as in not blipped, the stones can't resurrect them? Or else they would've resurrected Natasha, but they couldn't.

For whatever reason, they settled on the idea that death is irreversible in the MCU. Same reason they wouldn't be able to bring back Loki. They can only bring back people that were erased by the snap.

They had a time machine. They could have gone back and get both Nat and Stark before they died. The same way how Loki and Gamora were brought back.

Haha good point.

Just found one major hole. If variant Loki was caught instantly by TVA, why not second Gamora? 🤔

I know that the in-movie explanation goes really quick, but they do explain how they can't just bring people back from the dead or kill them before they would do harm.

Banner's scene with The Ancient One actually explains it best. They're talking about how the stones need to be turned back to the time they were taken, otherwise dangerous things might happen.

Same goes for taking people from the past that died in the future. If you take them from the past, to the future, their future won't exist, because they have no past.

It's complicated and of course there's peobably some plot holes in there, but when is there not when it comes to time travel. It makes no sense in any way, so why should we really understand it?

Short answer, they can't just snatch people from alternate/variant timelines and then plonk them into the sacred timeline or else it could fuck everything up. The TVA would probably get involved if a variant Tony and Natasha were somehow resurrected via either the time stone or pym particles.
