Nah, it will be here Monday.

You'll get it early then.

So do I. So do all who live in Europe in such times.

On and of course Spotify apparently has it on the 5th already.

You must only be counting Thursday thru Sunday then.

It'll be midnight here soon.

Besides, even if I don't get the CD by Monday noon, Amazon has free mp3 version ready for me to check out on the same day.

Either way, I'll hear it by then.

You get a free mp3 version when you order on amazon?

Yeah, it's called autorip.

You still have to pay if you cancel your order after you download it though ;)

Listened to all the samples. Had only heard a few until now. Sounds great.

Sons of Durin is so ace.

Score seems a bit emotionally monolithic though, doesn't it? ;)

And the song is beautiful. Damn. Great strings going on there.

Let's all stop whining and enjoy what could very well be the last Tolkien film of our lifetimes.

Listened to the Classic FM tracks again in the car. Damn, the way Sons of Durin starts off with that epic House of During backed by Dwarven chanting was pretty awesome. I guess this explains why Shore said in that interview snippet that he used the "Sons of Durin" theme in the track (prior samples only had Thorin and Erebor themes play).

The end of Courage and Wisdom really is a bit of a theme parade eh? There's like 8 major themes in a row giving a quick little run through. Kinda odd.

Also listened to the few snippets of OST tracks I separated out of the London premiere stream before I fell asleep the other night. Damn, some really awesome stuff in there, stuff that never came out in any samples. Was nice to hear Nature's Reclamation again, even though Shore managed to martial-ize even that!

Wow, it is soooooooooo weird not hearing a funky new theme and then The Shire theme to open up a Hobbit score! This film's opening is going to be REALLY different....

I'm behind you guys, didn't get to start it right away

Fire And Water might be one of the best action tracks of the trilogy, damn! Love the choral work

Wow, Tauriel's theme is the first thing you hear after the opening track. PJ will waste no time re-introducing her.

Politicians theme in Shores of the Long Lake is very cool!

Scratch that, I can't name the instrument in Bred for War.

didgeridoo?

sounds like The Master's Death will be a flashback or something?

Well...

Alfrid survives Smaug's attack (as he's there during the battle), so that could be for him.

I mean the action variation with Smaug theme counterpoint.

Loving the new Bard material

Guardians of the Three has a nice eerie start

Oooh, a long-lined Sauron's theme!

I wouldn't know, man, I'm not listening to this.

You could be!

Come on...you know you want to...the entire score...just waiting there...ripe for the taking!

The Darkest Hour is sad! Amazing material so far.

Edit: The Fallen too.. there's so much vocal work in this score compared to the previous two scores!

Ahh I see! I still say it's a coincidence. Somehow I doubt Shore watches Star Trek.

And that kind of motif is very Shore-ish in nature anyway.

Loving the motif though, I see it gets some interesting variations. 0:43 has a Zimmer-ish rhythm going on, doesn't it? Kind of like the Bane stuff? I like it!

Sounds like Guardians of the Three is an alternate on the album! The Rivendell theme is far more militaristic in the film and the material that proceeds it is different too. In the film we just get the descending thirds continuing after the Sauron statement. Sauron's theme seems to be much more prominent on the album too.

Nah, it just has some bits for footage cut from the film (or the clip)
