The most mysterious and enigmatic piece (of toast) in John Williams' ouvre returns this September!

I wonder if this show will be broadcast? I might have to go bootleg it myself!

Well, it turns out A Toast! is

Spoiler

just a series of Ludlows!! lol. I enjoyed it though. A Toast to Ludlow!

Some parts are also very similar to the brassy Quidditch intro fanfare. Which, now that I think about it, does seem to be a bit of a Ludlow variation as well.

As I mentioned, it was mostly comprised of a bunch of Ludlow material, including both the typical Ludlow we know and love.

What's "Ludlow material"?

Because the first time the motif appeared in a John Williams score was the album track "Ludlow's Demise" from the 1997 The Lost World score album

I recorded it at the show, but I'm going to hold off sharing it since someone will likely be able to get a better recording from the broadcast.

I think you are up.

Okay, I will now say something I rarely say of a Williams's piece.  I don't like it, and I find it kind of irritating.  So, no more listens.

I wouldn't go that far. I think it sounds like some of his fanfares but less inspired maybe. I'll still take it over his concerto style writing.
