The Rock was cast for this role in 2014!

I just checked his tweet announcing his casting. It has just 12K likes on twitter. Oof!

If this were today and he posted on Insta, he would get 5 million likes.

The short answer is they haven't really explained if its a sequel or a reboot.  I guess its both - a "soft reboot"?

I heard that this new The Suicide Squad is a "reboot", even though it still has Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. So is it still set in the same universe as the first one or is it set in another universe? Is it gonna be like Casino Royale where it's set in a completely different universe to the Brosnan flicks but retains Judi Dench as M? That sort of thing?

It can't be a reboot if it's set in the same universe as the last one.

I was under the impression this was a reboot altogether, ignoring the previous film and sweeping it under the rug.

From the impression I got, The Suicide Squad is a soft reboot/sequel. I have zero clue as to how it fits in with Birds of Prey.

This is the way it's gonna be? Not even bother creating a separate universe, just have soft reboots magically exist in the same one and just never bring up the last films!

It still looks gaudy and dumb.

The poster looks intentionally goofy. Not only does James Gunn love to pay with the genre, he also wants to make clear that this is going to be a different movie than the Suicide Squad of 2016.

Once he made clear it's a different movie I wouldn't be surprised if we see posters that have a different emotion to it. Of course, It's entirely possible that it's a goofy movie with no sense of danger from start to finish. We'll have to wait and see. I hope it's a mix like Galaxy Of The Guardians Vol.1.

Well, that has nothing to do with the DC Cinematic Universe, that's a separate thing

Instead of a mobile screenshot of a website, can you link to the website directly?  You just Copy the URL from your browser bar, then Paste it in to a forum post.  Thanks.

I mean it's just weird to post a mobile screenshot, IMO.  If you want to let people to know about something wouldn't it be more helpful to point them towards where they could buy it?

Well whatever, you can use whatever website you like.  How about this?

Posting a screenshot of your phone to show something you found on a website is just kind of not what anyone does.

Yes, it does.

I didn't find it, I just got it. Like people share pictures of soundtracks they just got.

I shared info you might be interested- a show you didn't even know about- and you gripe .

Last time.

It doesn't, though.

This particular thread is about this universe: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DC_Extended_Universe

I understand that the "Pennyworth" TV show is based on DC comic books, but it's not connected to the DCEU.

Posting pictures of something you bought that you want to show off is perfectly fine!  There's many active threads for that:

Recently Purchased Music

Recently Purchased Movies

Recently Purchased Video Games

Recently Purchased Books

The Action Figure, Model Kit and Movie Memorabilia Thread

etc

Notice in none of those threads has anyone ever posted a phone screenshot of a website.  They post a nice image of the actual cover art, or a picture they took themselves of an actual physical product...

Bruce has been clogging up our server space with attached images since he rejoined, on a level no other user has ever done in 20 years, so I'm trying to establish a norm

Posting screenshots of websites scrunched down into a mobile view is just a weird practice for anyone to do on a forum, even in 2020

What do you mean?

I mean: your argument is ridiculous.

Why do you, as a mod, talk rudely to someone just posting news via screenshot, with the sole argument "that's not what people do"?

Literally nobody cared until you singled him out for no reason. Is that how you help people "fit in"?

Fit into what?

You don't integrate people by forcing THEM to adapt other people's habits as their own. You integrate them by making the already existing people accept the new guy's habits.

Through leading by EXAMPLE.

He didn't break rules, he didn't curse, he posted a goddamn screenshot.
