I have been noticing a lack of enthusiasm and an increased amount if scepticism and grumpiness towards modern cinema.

First reactions for BvS were saying it was much better than MOS and look at how that turned out

I saw B v S on Friday and it was absolute garbage.  And I liked MOS.

Wonder Woman was great, though!

In our rec room we only have a ~20 year old projection screen with an S-video cable.  For purchases I usually go with Blu because it'll look better on our small bedroom TV, and will make a difference in the future (when this TV goes, we'll get a massive HD deal).  But for a one-night rental, Blu won't give me any significant benefit.

Can't wait to see Suicide Squad. Looks like the best of a mediocre summer.

BvS wasn't that bad. I already explained when it was first released that it's an extremely uneven film with way too much going on.

It certainly falls apart towards the end. After the titular characters duke it out for no good reason (it was understandable for Batman to hate a guy who leveled a city, but why the fuck did this Superman even do that? If it was an accident, couldn't he like explain himself and wouldn't an intelligent guy like Batman understand? I agreed with Batman, but it didn't seem to make any fucking sense and it didn't seem to matter after the ridiculous "Martha!" scene), the movie completely loses all sense of purpose and it's just a CGI catastrophe with pivotal incidents having no impact. I didn't understand why Superman died after two movies, but I didn't care. I also didn't care about the Justice League.

We just want the Bat. The Batman material is where the film is it at its strongest. I thought it was a neat take on the character and it was fun seeing Batman murder people again. There's a positively awesome scene of Batman kicking ass in that flick that's certainly noteworthy. Remember all those lame fight scenes in the Nolan films? Neither do I. But I still remember Snyder's. I might check out the 3 hour version. Either that, or I'll wait for the YouTube supercut video of all the Batfleck scenes!

Producer and new co-head of Warner Brothers' DC Films division, Geoff Johns decided to clear the title rumors about the film. It will be called "Justice League", none of that 'Part 1' or 'Part 2' nonsense.

Croc kind of liked it. Or at least tolerated it more than MoS.
