Jay 37,352
Giacchino has begun tweeting and instagramming pics from the recording sessions at the Warner Eastwood scoring stage. Looks like they began recording Monday January 26 Source: https://twitter.com/m_giacchino/status/565954306273062912 Source: http://instagram.com/p/zB6DAnldiz/Getting excited for this one! crocodile 8,006
It's Pixar plus Giacchino. No-brainer for me.Although, I have a soft spot for Jupiter Ascending.Karol
Jay 37,352
Plus it's him reteaming with the director that won him an Oscar for Best original Score, Pete Docter. Surely Giacchino treated this one extra special.
Max 141
I'm also incredibly excited for this one (as I am with all Giacchino scores, admittedly). In one of the videos on his Instagram page, you can hear a brief excerpt of the end credits:http://instagram.com/p/yVl4otldhf(The direct video link is https://igcdn-videos-f-9-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xaf1/t50.2886-16/10938204_815137905220429_834331202_n.mp4, but I'm not sure how to embed the video.) Let's not get ahead of ourselves now... unless we're actually suggesting that the only reason a Pixar film's any good is due to its superb score.I'm suggesting that it feels like the kind of imaginative world-building that Pixar made its name on, mining a subject for infinite comedic opportunities along with some fabulous casting choices (Lewis Black as Anger and Phyllis Smith as Sadness are especially tickling). Also the plot hinting at themes of memory and depression is intriguing, as it's the type of thing that this studio on its best days has handled with delicacy and even beauty, and a few shots like the family huddled on the floor and simple visual ideas like the memories changing from happy to sad indicate the kind of quiet emotional resonance that has been missing from their recent work but that they've certainly achieved in the past. Not to mention Pete Docter's one of the best they've got, seems to have real potential for excellence IMO.

Muad'Dib 1,802
I think The Incredibles and Ratatouille are excellent, but they are more Brad Bird than Pixar. The first 10 minutes of Up are pure brilliance and if it was a short on its own, it would be even better. As it is, it's still good buit it's got ups and downs, and the third act feels kinda disjointed in tone compared to the rest of the movie. But it's still highly enjoyable. mrbellamy 6,281
I think The Incredibles and Ratatouille are excellent, but they are more Brad Bird than Pixar. Well, the brand's only as good as the people behind it. Disney learned that the hard way, pretty much instantly after Walt died...makes sense when you consider that Lasseter is the only one of the key original group to work on the films that have been released since Toy Story 3, and will make even more sense if Inside Out turns out to be as good as I think it might. Bird was a newbie but a real proven talent, while the resumes of most of the creative personnel on Cars 2, Brave, and Monsters University aren't terribly impressive. Though perhaps Brenda Chapman could have made Brave great if it hadn't been taken away from her.

Max 141
A new clip has been released with some score in it! The beginning of the clip must be Joy's theme--it sounds similar to the "Bundle of Joy" cue that was used in the Spanish trailer. I can't wait to hear more! leeallen01 2,136
This will no doubt be a Score and film that has the vibe of UP. I know pixar films have that outward child appearance with an adult story, but judging by what I've seen and heard so far, Giacchino has no doubt had fun with this film, yet he will also no doubt shred our hearts from our chests. Max 141
I wonder if Jurassic World's OST will come out on June 9. That would be a new Giacchino score three weeks in a row!I think the end credits suite for this should be called "Inside Outro." I just wanted to say that now in case it actually happens. Jay 37,352
In the case of “Inside Out,” an animated film that takes place inside the mind of a 13-year-old girl, director Pete Docter — whose previous film with Giacchino, “Up,” won Oscars for both men — started telling him about it “four or five years ago.” Because both men have 15-year-old daughters (who also happen to be friends), the story became more personal, especially as they shared stories of parenthood and watching their girls grow up. “He was on the exact same page, emotionally,” Docter says.
