Jerry Goldsmith' GREMLINS 2: THE NEW BATCH (1990) - 2015 Varese 25th Anniversary Edition

The score is like a crazy, fun, intense, violent, and even scary cartoon score. It is also one of the few scores that makes me laugh out loud when listening to it. Those duck quacks, every freaking time...

Hey, the first score has the insane "cat wailing", hahaha. And the big action finale is one of my favorite Goldsmith tracks ever! Not without its own merits, but it suffers a little in complete form due to lots of "filler".

Contender for one of my top five favorite scores in the entire universe.

But I'm wholly satisfied with the Deluxe Edition as is. :)

I'm pleasantly surprised they even threw in the music from when Leonard Maltin gets mauled!

So... Mystery solved?

It is out of order but unless you want to edit a few audio files there is no way to fix it.

If this were an album arranged by the composer, it would be fine. But I don't like when expanded or complete versions aren't chronological.

Scores were intended to be heard in one direction and doing this really messes up the intended flow by the composer and I have never liked it when this happens.

Didn't LLL let Goldenthal fuck around with the chronological presentation of Batman Forever? Some really good bits seem to be still missing from that.

I think but I have sessions to the two batman scores alongside the CDs so I will listen to sessions if I do score study so I rarely listen to the CD.

I just find it distracting when I know the score and when I am trying to do a study or exam it and I have to switch between cues.

Me too - normally. I hate those Hook album tracks!

The recording for this score is really exceptional. One of the best I've ever heard. I could have sworn I heard the mad scientist theme blaring on the muzak a couple weeks ago at work, so I gave it a look-see and the expanded version is on Spotify, oddly enough. So much the better! It's one of JG's best.

I used to have the short main title music recorded off the TV speaker on my Talkboy.

Now all the people who missed out can groove to an essential collection of thirty second cues!😁

Yes, you’re so hilarious. There is *one* 34-second cue in the main body of the album, and then one 41-second cue near the end. *All* of the other cues are well over a minute, and many shorter cues are combined into suites of three or four which often run over two minutes total...except for the little bonus section at the end with logos and such. (What do you want those combined with?)

The only complaint to be made about the Deluxe Edition album is that they screwed up the mastering compared with the original album. Neil S. Bulk did the assembly and it is as impeccable as most of his work.
