Morlock?

Nah, I would've know. Morlock is dead!

I didn't always agree with Morlock, but he was a huge film fan. Sadly, in the end, he only talked about unknown independent movies and documentaries that played in obscure little theatres. He got a little too artsy fartsy. I think he knew the end was nearing.

In respect for your thread and angle, Pilgrim, I'll keep my mouth shut on the 'forum atmosphere' and all that (this time).

But I'd like to praise Ricard once again for creating and maintaining a living John Williams page (with most every other Williams page out there being "dead"). For a Williams nutjob like myself, it's great to have this as a resource and news outlet, in particular. And one of the few places I can "riff" with fellow Williams researchers on all things obscure.

A bomb fell on one of those little obscure theatres in Israel or Palestine. Morlock died while doing what he loved the most.

I hope not! He was a valuable and treasured member (and no, this is not a innuendo!).

Are you Weebo, Mithrandir?

Keep those threads on obscure JW TV shows coming Thor! I mean it! Always interesting stuff for JW fanatics like myself to read.

It's just a pity I miss so many of those threads. JW subforum is not my most frequent viewed sections.

But yeah, this is all good stuff, Thor!

I can't claim to be a good member here, but from my lofty realms looking down on this place, the reason JWFan is more pleasant is because of how intimate the community and interactions are. FSM is a place of anonymity.

I've circled the fringes of FSM for some years now. It seems to me that it's a little more civil than it used to be, but still nowhere near the dynamic this place has managed to maintain. There's no question which one's better by a hundred miles.

I'm not here to dispense or consume information like a machine. I'd be over at FSM if I were interested in that. I'd be over at FSM if I had no interest in strong personalities with real perspectives and the intelligence and gusto to back them up. I'd be over at FSM if I just couldn't take it when people make lengthy posts with actual insight and wit and fire and poetry. I'm not over at FSM.

Now that's a great summation of what makes JWFan so phenomenal. Nicely said.

Why don't you just drop it. Nobody cares about this except you. Just let both threads die.

EDIT: I was talking to TGP

What's with you man? You fawn over other posts praising this site but have nothing to say related to mine, you just tell me to drop it? Taking things too seriously again?

I left it out of my original post because I didn't want to gripe, but if there *is* something off-putting about this place it's the occasional selective bullying from you. Why don't you tell me what it was I did to earn your ire?

Wha? I have nothing against you. I don't don't see the point in starting a war with FSM. Some guy over there doesn't like us; Who cares? I don't.

Honestly, this place was in better hands with Jack Chapple.

You mean shut down with unpaid servers? Those were the days!

Nope... before that. Jack wasn't a tyrannical, passive aggressive, OCPD overlord like Jay. He was a fine composer and web developer and an engaging personality. He shall be missed.

In addition to the engaging and interesting layers of personality inherent to JWFan, there's also the whole fascinating aspect of the "split universe" we have going on here. For instance, I've never seen this tyrannical, "Intendant Jay" version of our mod. Just the "Major Jay" guy—the one who (like any other mod) has to draw the line at times in order to keep JWFan the friendly, civil place it is, but remains one of the friendlier personalities himself the rest of the time.

All this reminds me how long it's been since I've been over to FSM. I need to see what all this drama's about. . . .
