Bespin Copilot 10,514 Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 16 Aug 2015"The legendary London Symphony Orchestra, who you will remember recorded all previous episodes of the saga soundtracks but not the hotly anticipated forthcoming soundtrack for The Force Awakens, are still very much involved in matters relating to the galaxy far, far away. Yesterday Disney's Portfolio Creative Executive Scott Trowbridge revealed that the LSO have recorded the music for Season of the Force, to be heard in Disney Parks."More here: http://www.jedinews.co.uk/news/news.aspx?newsID=22991
Maurizio 6,744 Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 The LSO recorded music also for the revamped Star Tours a few years ago, so it's not the first time such a thing happens. It's nice to see they're still attached to Star Wars anyway. I guess it's a pretty sure thing they will also record Rogue One with Desplat.
crocodile 9,516 Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 I guess it's a pretty sure thing they will also record Rogue One with Desplat. Oh yeah, I seems extremely likely. Karol
BloodBoal 8,025 Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Are the LSO broke?Indeed. What's next? Performing video game music?Oh wait...
crocodile 9,516 Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Any news on the CD release by the way?Karol
BloodBoal 8,025 Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 As far as I know, no.A Blu-Ray has been released in Japan, though, if you care about such trivial things: http://www.square-enix.co.jp/music/sem/page/fs_bdm/Oh, and just saw this too: http://www.spielemusikkonzerte.de/en/neues/ansicht/article/final-symphony-audio-blu-ray-to-launch-this-september/The way the article is phrased, it sounds like the Blu-Ray will be the only physical format released, so no CD...
crocodile 9,516 Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 It doesn't actually really say anything. And Blu-ray audio is a rather rare format. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.Karol
King Mark 3,907 Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 So, does JW have any involvement in these new recordings?
crocodile 9,516 Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 He's conducting via Skype from a comfortable armchair in his living room. Karol
Incanus 5,884 Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 He's conducting via Skype from a comfortable armchair in his living room. KarolI thought the conductor in those photos of the recording sessions looked like William Ross. But I could be mistaken.According to his website he conducted and arranged the music for Tokyo Disneyland Star Tours in 2013.
Jay 45,144 Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 That guy gets around!http://www.jwfan.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=25131
Jay 45,144 Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 You said that! Robert Ziegler is the new Conrad Pope! And this gem! He is Conrad Pope. Or rather Conrad Pope as he should have been.
