#johnwilliams advice from the podium yesterday. "trombones, listen carefully to what's happening around you as that will educate you"

I wonder if this was for Star Wars recording sessions or something else. Perhaps that Fox parking spot photo has more relevance than we thought...

Too early for The BFG?

It seems too early for the full score, but Williams could be recording some sequences early for animating purposes, similar to what he did for Tintin.

I think it's a bit too early for any recording of The BFG. I guess it's more likely original music for the new Force Awakens trailer, which rumors say will be out in a couple of weeks. Or maybe a pick-up session for the film itself.

They must have recorded music for the upcoming trailer (and TV spots probably too?)

#StarWars trailer is "done" & making it's rounds about Disney corp...so are a handful of TV spots...But release is still nebulous.

Geez they're getting their money's worth with Williams. Not even Lucas demanded he score the prequel's trailers.

That said, MORE JOHN WILLIAMS STAR WARS MUSIC PLEASE !

How about this for a new Williams' quote:

More #johnwilliams from the podium. "My dream is that note for the brass will be louder than anything Verdi's got"

It would seem so. While I don't want to see Williams put through the ringer, I cannot wait for a Star Wars score not chopped up and mashed. Besides, based on these JoAnn quotes, it sounds as if Williams is really enjoying this.

I hope so. I would like to think that the demands of having this project stretched out for many months alongside new music for the trailers has been a positive experience for him instead of an annoying one.

Proof that Mike Verdi is the next Williams!

Perhaps it's being documented and Williams is playing it up for the camera.

And how do we know it's a recording session?

Also, another quote...

More #JohnWilliams to the orchestra. We want to hear that modulation, heinous as it is!!

likely an unreleased cue. Hopefully it will be in a Battlefront DLC

they are still recording the score?

Well, given how long it took them to record two brief trailer cues, I'm not surprised they're still working on the actual score for the film. I'm not even sure they'll finish in time.

Maybe he's scoring the teaser trailer for Episode VIII?

I certainly didn't realise Williams was so amusing during sessions! Maybe he's threatened by the rapport Pope is building with musicians since conducting (ghostwriting) the Hobbit scores?

Williams and Ross form a symbiotic circle, they must see this.

Once Zimmer takes control of Hollywood he'll take control of the Los Angeles freelance orchestra.
